ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer team (2-0-3, 1-0-1) will travel for the first time in NSIC play, facing the Marauders of UMary on Friday before taking on the Beavers of Minot State on Sunday. 
 
The Navy and Gold will hit the road for two games in North Dakota this weekend, facing UMary (1-2-2, 0-1-1) at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, followed by Minot State (1-4) at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. 
 
WATCH ONLINE - MIDCO SPORTS PLUS
Starting with the 2026-27 season, Concordia and the NSIC will call Midco Sports Plus the streaming home for the NSIC Network. Midco Sports Plus, a regional cable provider primarily based in North Dakota, South Dakota, and parts of Minnesota, features an expanded variety of online sports coverage.
 
The NSIC Network will be part of a subscription service with annual access plans starting at under $7 per month for the full year ($79/year) or a monthly service for $15, which includes NSIC coverage as well as Summit League coverage.
 
Concordia's home broadcasts will continue to feature multiple cameras with instant replay, along with commentary from St. Paul-native Dan Flanagan, a graduate of Fordham University (N.Y.), where he covered multiple NCAA Division I sports teams on campus for the Rams, including football and basketball in the Patriot League. Flanagan has been the broadcast voice of the Golden Bears for nearly 20 years and called multiple national, regional, and conference championships.

RECAP OF THE WEEK
The Golden Bears opened up their NSIC slate at home with a 1-1 draw against Northern State and a 4-1 win over Jamestown.
 
CSP currently ranks fourth in the NSIC standings following the opening weekend, trailing Minnesota Duluth, Augustana and Minnesota State. 
 
Game One: CSP 1, NORTHERN STATE 1
The Golden Bears moved to 7-20-4 all-time against the Wolves following their 1-1 draw against Northern State. 
 
Lexi Pettit paced the Golden Bears' performance, scoring CSP's lone goal to give the Golden Bears the lead early in the first half. The goal marked her first of the season and fourth of her career.  
 
In the first half, CSP controlled play and prevented Northern State from gaining possession. The Golden Bears capitalized on the momentum when Lexi Pettit bent a kick into the net off the assist from Maddison Balashaitis in the 18th minute to take a 1-0 lead. 
 
The Golden Bears held a 13-1 shot advantage at halftime, including three shots on goal, while CSP committed four fouls to the Wolves' three. CSP also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. 
 
Coming out of halftime, CSP looked to maintain its momentum and finish strong, shutting down the Wolves' attempts to regain possession while continuing to push the ball down the field. 
 
It was a physical second half before Abby Missman scored the equalizer for NSU in the 60th minute, assisted by Kylie Albert, to tie the match at 1-1. 
 
The match grew increasingly physical and chippy in the final minutes, with both teams battling for the winning goal. Neither side could find the breakthrough, as the match ended in a 1-1 tie. 
 
CSP held the shot advantage 18-11 and took six shots on goal on the day while holding the Wolves to just two shots on goal. 
 
Leading the Golden Bears' defense was Maddison Balashaitis, who played all 90 minutes and recorded her third career assist on CSP's lone goal. 
 
Pettit tied her career highs with seven shots and three shots on goal. Haase, Ashley Bennett and Hannah Carroll each recorded two shots. 
 
Game Two: CSP 4, JAMESTOWN 1
The Golden Bears moved to 4-1 all-time against the Wolves following their 1-1 draw against Northern State. 
 
Sophia Haase highlighted the day for the Navy and Gold, scoring her third collegiate hat trick. She became the first Golden Bear in program history to record three career hat tricks and the first to score two hat tricks in a single season.
 
CSP dominated the game in all phases and categories, tallying a season-high 29 shots along with a 5-3 corner kick advantage. 
 
In the first half, Concordia got the scoring started early. Sophia Haase put the Golden Bears on the board in the second minute, finding the back of the net off assists from Breanna Weilert and Lexi Pettit. Haase added to the lead in the 16th minute with another assist from Pettit before completing her hat trick nine minutes later, this time off an assist from Lainie Wehmhoff.
 
Following Haase's goal, Jamestown got on the board in the 26th minute off a strike from Julliet Lopez to make the score 3-1. 
 
CSP continued its strong play in the second half, looking to close out the weekend on a high note. The Golden Bears kept the pressure on Jamestown, adding to their lead in the 84th minute when Lexi Pettit converted a free kick with a header off an assist from Brooke Nelson. 
 
The Golden Bears continued to control the match in the second half, keeping Jamestown off the scoreboard to secure the 4-1 victory. 
 
Lexi Pettit notched a career-high two assists in Sunday's match while scoring her first goal of the season. 
 
Four different Golden Bears recorded an assist in Sunday's match, with Pettit leading the way with two, while Wehmhoff, Nelson and Weilert each recorded one. 
 
Wehmhoff and Weilert each notched their first assists of the season, with Weilert recording the first assist of her Golden Bear career.
 
Senior goalkeeper Sydney Potter recorded two saves while facing nine shots on Sunday.
 
Nine different Golden Bears recorded a shot in Sunday's match, led by Pettit with eight. Lainie Wehmhoff, Sophia Haase and Brooke Nelson each recorded four shots, while Sienna Latta had three, Milla Klostermann had two, and Maddison Balashitis, Ava Hopper, Ashley Bennett and Hope Schensema each had one.
 
SEASON LEADERS
Haase leads the NSIC and the Golden Bears with six goals, 12 points and two game-winning goals this season. She is tied for fourth in Division II in goals.

Lexi Pettit, Sienna Latta and Brooke Nelson are tied for third in the NSIC in assists, with two apiece.

Petitt leads the team with 23 shots and 11 shots on goal, ranking second in the NSIC in shots and third in shots on goal.
 
Maddison Balashaitis, Nelson, Haase and Pettit have each played at least 350 minutes this season, with Balashaitis leading the team with 441 minutes played. 
 
Potter leads the Golden Bears with five 90-minute starts and ranks fourth in the NSIC with a 0.60 goals-against average. She ranks eighth in save percentage at .833, tenth in saves with 18 and fifth in shutouts with two. 
 
HAASE'S HONORS
Senior Sophia Haase earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. 
 
The award marks the third weekly conference honor of her career and her second of the season after being named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8, 2026.

The Monticello native became the first Golden Bear in program history to record three career hat tricks and the first player in CSP history to record two hat tricks in a single season.

HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND UMARY
The two programs have met a total of 24 times with the Marauders holding a 4-17-3 all-time advantage. CSP is 4-5-2 in the last 10 matchups against UMary.
 
Last season, Concordia-St. Paul played to a 1-1 draw against the Marauders. Returner Lexi Pettit assisted on CSP's lone goal, scored by Nicole Moore.

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
UMary posted a 8-7-4 (6-5-4 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing eighth in the NSIC.
 
The Marauders were picked sixth in the NSIC preseason poll, receiving 156 points. The selection marks the second consecutive year UMary has been picked sixth in the preseason poll. 

UMary enters the matchup with a 1-2-2 overall record and a 0-1-1 mark in NSIC play. The Marauders opened conference play with a 2-2 draw against St. Cloud State and a 3-0 loss to Minnesota State.

2025 Northern Sun Newcomer of the Year Dina Polanco leads the Marauders' offensive attack, ranking first in the NSIC with 28 shots and 15 shots on goal. She ranks second in the conference with five goals, trailing only CSP's Sophia Haase.

2025 All-NSIC performers Dina Polanco and Chloe Brand were named UMary's 2026 Northern Sun Players to Watch. Ivy Wessel made an immediate impact for the University of Mary, earning NSIC Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors in her first match with the Marauders. 

HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND MINOT STATE
CSP enters the matchup with a 5-8-4 all-time record against the Beavers, including a 5-4-1 mark in the last 10 meetings.
 
Last season, Concordia-St. Paul defeated Minot State in a thrilling NSIC quarterfinal, earning a 3-0 victory in a penalty-kick shootout following a 0-0 draw. Returner Sophia Haase scored the game-clinching goal in the shootout, sending the Golden Bears to the NSIC semifinals.
 
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
Minot State posted a 9-5-5 (9-2-4 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing fourth in the conference.

The Beavers were picked eighth in the NSIC preseason poll, receiving 121 points. 

Minot State enters the matchup with a 1-4 overall record and a 0-2 mark in NSIC play after opening conference action with a 1-0 loss to No. 5 Minnesota State and a 1-0 loss to St. Cloud State.

Elsa Duquesne has scored the lone goal for the Beavers this season while Leah Salas leads the team with seven shots and three shots on goal. 

Minot State highlighted forward and graduate student Linnea Svenzén and senior defender Brittney Egbert as its 2026 NSIC Players to Watch.

Now in her fifth season with the Beavers, Svenzén has played in 39 games for Minot State, including 13 during the 2024 season before redshirting last fall.

Egbert played in all 19 games for Minot State last fall, scoring four goals and adding two assists while helping anchor the defense.
