4.10.26

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) released its updated All-Sports Standings following the winter sports season and Concordia-St. Paul sits in fifth place overall with the women in third and the men in ninth.

In the winter season, the CSP women's basketball team placed second in the NSIC while the men finished in third place. Both the men's and women's track and field teams finished ninth at the NSIC Indoor Championships, and the swimming and diving team claimed fifth place at the NSIC Championships.

Minnesota State holds the lead in the overall and women's standings while Augustana University leads the men's standings as 11 of the 18 NSIC championships are in the books.  MSU has 145.5 points after earning championships in women's basketball, women's swimming and diving and men's & women's indoor track & field. Augustana has 116 points after finishing second in men's basketball and wrestling.

The University of Minnesota Duluth (95.0) is third in the overall standings while the University of Mary (89.0) is fourth. Concordia-St. Paul is fifth with 85.0 points, Sioux Falls is sixth (84.0) while St. Cloud State (81.5) is seventh after winning the men's basketball and wrestling championships.

The NSIC All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.

The NSIC All-Sports Champions will be announced following the spring season, with the awards being presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in Bloomington, Minnesota in July.
