ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul softball team continues its out of conference schedule with five games at the Top Gun Midwest Classic. The Golden Bears will open the tournament Friday, Feb. 27 against Maryville, with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.
CSP's second game on Friday will see them take on Pittsburg State at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 28 the Golden Bears open the day with a game against Missouri Western at 2:40 p.m. with a second game against Northwest Missouri set for 5 p.m.
Sunday's game against Rockford has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the forecast.

Last Time Out
The Golden Bear picked up four wins at the Lewis Dome Invitational, dropping one game to Upper Iowa on Saturday.
Riley Rosenthal led the way at the plate with seven hits in 18 at bats posting a team leading .389 average, smacking a double and triple with three RBI. Ava Blake posted a .357 average with a .375 on-base percentage and a .643 slugging percentage, with a team leading three extra base hits, with three RBI. Lily Burke batted .308 and Gabby Martinez posted a .300 average with one double
In the circle Tatum Dunlavy made two starts, tossing 10.2 innings, with a 1.31 ERA and six strikeouts picking up one win. Emmy Bowne made three starts going 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA and nine strikeouts in 20.0 innings.
CSP started the weekend with a pair of wins over Wayne State (Mich.) and Grand Valley State. The Golden Bears walked off the Warriors 6-5 in nine innings, Gabby Martinx tied the game at five in the ninth, later coming around to score the walkoff run. Abi Carter pitched 4.1 innings of relief to earn the win.
Concordia capped the day with a 7-2 win over the Lakers, plating three runs in the third two of which came on a Riley Rosenthal double. CSP tacked on four more in the sixth, while Emmy Bowne tossed a complete game to earn the win.
The Golden Bears dropped Saturday's contest 8-4 to the Peacocks with Emmy Bowne taking the loss in the circle. CSP bounced back Sunday with a pair of wins over Truman and Quincy, 4-3 and 5-4.
Danni Sharum went 2-for-3 against the Bulldogs, blasting a three-run home run her first of the season in the win. Dunlavy tossed six innings to grab the win in the circle.
Lily Burke went 3-for-4 at the plate in game two, with Riley Rosenthal contributing three hits as well. Nora Brandt had two hits including the walkoff winner in the bottom of the seventh, Bowne tossed her fourth complete game to grab the win in the circle.

Riley Rosenthal leads the Golden Bears in average through name games batting .333 with a .353 OBP and .424 slugging percentage. Katie Klotz has a .333/.350/.500 slash line in seven games this season. Ava Blake is batting .308 with a .829 OPS, Lily Burke and Alexis Monty are both batting .292 and Monty leads the team with nine walks.
Emmy Bowne leads the way in the circle, with a 4-1 record in five starts and 34.0 innings pitched, posting a 3.55 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 16 strikeouts. Tatum Dunlavy has made four starts posting a 1-2 record in 18.0 innings with a 3.11 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 11 punchouts. Abi Carter has made four relief appearances earning one win and posting a 2.33 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 9.0 innings.
Maryville - Friday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. - Mid-America Sports Complex 1
The Golden Bears and Saints have met just once, with CSP grabbing a 8-2 win in Emporia, Kansas back in February of 2024. Emmy Bowne picked up her second win of the season, tossing a seven inning complete game, giving up six hits and striking out four.
The Saints are off to a 5-5 start to the season, picking up a pair of one run wins over Northwest Missouri and Christian Brothers last Friday.
Laila Ruiz leads the Saints in average, batting .478 with a 2.011 OPS, while leading the team with seven home runs. Jenna Kosnoff is batting .472 with a 1.528 OPS, with five roundtrippers and 13 RBI. Emily Erb is batting .333 for Maryville with a 1.010 OPS, with one home run.
Aubrey Scieszinski leads the way in the circle with a 3-1 record, a 3.82 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP with eight strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched. Nora Johnson is 0-2 in the circle in three starts this season, with a 2.13 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, with 11 punchouts in 23.0 innings pitched.
The Saints are led by Chanin Billings, who is in her second season at the helm of the Maryville softball program.
No. 23-ranked Pittsburg State - Friday, Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m. - Mid-America Sports Complex 2
In 11 games against the Gorillas the Golden Bears have a 3-8 record, with Pittsburg State grabbing a 9-1 win when the two teams met in March of 2025 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
The Gorillas are 17-0 this season picking up four wins over Missouri-St. Louis and McKendree at the MIAA/GLVC crossover last weekend. Pittsburg State was ranked No. 23 in the most recent NFCA coaches' poll after being in the receiving votes category last week.
Heather Arnett is leading the way for the Gorillas at the plate with a .582 batting average and 1.295 OPS, with 15 RBI. Kadyn Trochim is batting .469 with a 1.253 OPS with a team leading 27 RBI and one home run. Sailor Hall leads the team with four long balls a .333 average and a 1.130 OPS.
Ava Laurent leads the way in the circle with a 6-0 record, posting a 2.12 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 29 strikeouts. Emma Crabb is 5-0 with a 0.27 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP with 25 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched.
Missouri Western State - Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2:40 p.m. - Mid-America Sports Complex 6
In 27 matchups with the Griffons the Golden Bears have a 12-15 record, with CSP currently riding a four-game win streak over Missouri Western. The last time the two teams met was in February of 2023, with CSP coming away with a 2-1 win in Mankato.
The Griffons are 12-2 this season, after picking up three wins at the Branson DII Battle last week.
Ayva McComas leads the Griffons in average this season, batting .386 with a .983 OPS, nine RBI and one home run. Kalee Higdon is batting .367 with a .969 OPS and a team leading 14 RBI, smacking two homers. Ashlyn Finarty leads the team with five roundtrippers, posting a .950 OPS and driving in 11 runs.

The Golden Bears are 9-8 in 17 all-time meeting with the Bearcats, CSP dropped a 5-4 contest in their last meeting back in 2023 in Topeka, Kansas.
The Bearcats are 12-5 last season and have won their last four games after sweeping the competition last week at the Washburn Invitational, capping off the weekend by taking down Minnesota State, 11-2.
Kaylee Cords leads the Bearcats at the plate with a .426 average and a 1.029 OPS, tallying a team leading 17 RBI with one home run. Omara Love is batting .390 this season, with 17 RBI and two home runs. Mackenzie Minarik is batting .385 with a 1.066 OPS, smacking two homers and driving in eight runs.
In the circle, Jadyn Streigle leads the way with a 5-1 record and a 1.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP with 29 strikeouts in 37.0 innings of work. Rien Moore is 3-0 this season with 2.40 ERA, 1,09 WHIP and 25 punchouts in 35.0 innings.
