ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team returns to the Gangelhoff Center for the first time in 2026, for a pair of conference matchups. The Golden Bears are currently riding a three-game winning streak after earning a road win over Winona State last weekend, improving their conference record to 4-4 and their overall record to 8-5 on the season.
On Friday Night, Jan. 9, CSP will take on MSU Moorhead at the Gangelhoff Center, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday's matchup will feature the Golden Bears taking on Minnesota Crookston, with tip-off set for 4 p.m.

Purchase Tickets in Advance Online
Fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets online at cspbears.com/tickets prior to game day. All ticketed events for the 25-26 academic year will utilize the Vivenu online ticket platform found at that link and fans must scan a mobile ticket to enter. Tickets will still be sold on site on game day but purchases are card-only and include additional fees. The best way for fans to make their game day entry as smooth as possible is to purchase tickets online in advance. CSP Students, Faculty and Staff will be able to download their free passes through Vivenue.
Last Time Out
The Golden Bears opened the new year with a win Saturday afternoon on the road against the Winona State Warriors. The back-and-forth affair saw 13 lead changes, with double overtime being required to determine a winner.
In the end CSP prevailed, behind a 44 point performance for senior guard Lydia Haack, setting a new career and program best for points in a game. Haack's 44 points are the most in a single game by any player in the NSIC this season and fourth most in a game in all of Division II.
CSP held a five point lead near the end of a tightly contested first half, after a Lauren Feddema three pointer. At the break the Golden Bears led, 34-31.
In the third quarter Concordia led by as many as nine after Lydia Haack drilled a three ball. But Winona State answered with a 10-5 run to open the fourth to take a 60–52 lead.
Trailing late in the fourth, Haack scored 15 points in the final five minutes including a buzzer beater three to tie the game at 69 and send it to overtime. In the extra period both teams remained deadlocked, scoring five points apiece sending the game to double overtime.
In the second overtime period, the Warriors quickly opened up a four point lead, but the Golden Bears answered with a 6-2 to take an 81-80 lead. Haack scored seven points in the period, and with the game tied at 85, the Golden Bears got the final possession. Haack threw up a three-point attempt, but couldn't get it to go. Leah Dengerud drew a foul on the contested rebound, however, sending her to the free throw line.
Dengerud nailed both attempts from the charity stripe with 3.4 seconds to play, as the Golden Bears took the two overtime thriller by a score of, 87-85.

After scoring 44 points on Saturday, Lydia Haack has now scored 783 points in her career as a Golden Bear. The senior needs 217 points to become 30th member of the CSP women's basketball 1,000 point club.
Dating back to her time at Upper Iowa, Haack has amassed 1,783 career points, including 1,263 points in NSIC games placing her 12th all-time in conference scoring.
Senior guard Leah Dengerud is also closing in on the 1,000 point mark, she is currently sitting at 841 career points, needing 159 more to reach the 1,000 point threshold. Lauren Wilson is currently 203 points away from 1,000 as well, the junior forward is currently at 797 points across three seasons for the Golden Bears.

As a team the Golden Bears are averaging 76.4 points per game this season, which is good for third in the NSIC in scoring offense. CSP ranks 13th in the conference in terms of scoring defense, allowing an average of 71.5 ppg this season.

The Golden Bears and Dragons have played each other a total of 46 times dating back to 1976. In that span CSP has had the upper hand winning 28 of those matchups, as conference opponents the record is more evenly split with Concordia going 19-18 against Moorhead in conference games.
CSP has won each of the last four matchups against MSU Moorhead, with the most recent win coming last February at the Gangelhoff Center by a score of 62-53.
Lydia Haack posted a then career-high 35 points in a nine point win over the Dragons, going 13-of-22 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line.
The Golden Bears trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half, outsourcing the Dragons 25-4 down the stretch, with Haack scoring 16 of CSP's 25 points. The Concordia defense held Moorhead to just two points in the fourth quarter, as CSP put together a 13-0 run to take a 54-53 lead with 4:05 to go. Closing it out from there by outsourcing the Dragons 17-2 in the final period of play.
About the Dragons
The Dragons currently occupy the seventh place spot in the NSIC standings with a 4-4 record and tied with CSP and Minot State. MSU Moorhead also boasts a 7-5 overall record through 12 games this season.
Last week the Dragons earned a 63-48 win over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday to extend their winning streak to three games.
In terms of scoring offense the Dragons rank eighth in the NSIC, averaging 71.4 points per game. On defense Moorhead is allowing 63.8 ppg, second lowest in the conference behind Minnesota Duluth.
On the glass the Dragons rank fourth in the conference in rebounding at 39.6 rebounds per game. The Dragons rank fourth in opponent rebounds as well at 34.1 per game.
MSU Moorhead is hitting on 40.5% of their shots from the floor, placing them 12th in the NSIC on field goal percentage. On defense they are holding opponents to 39.1% from the floor, which is the third lowest opponent field goal percentage in the conference.
Terryn Johnson leads the Dragons in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game this season, which ranks 18th in the NSIC. The Golden Bears and Golden Eagles have met on 40 previous occasions, with CSP having the upper hand in 31 of those matchups. In NSIC contests, the Golden Bears hold a 28-6 record over Crookston dating back to January of 2000.
CSP's longest run of dominance came between 2005 and 2013, when the Golden Bears won 13 consecutive games against the Golden Eagles. In more recent history Concordia has won the last eight games against Crookston dating back to February of 2019.
Last season the Golden Bears and Golden Eagles played twice, with CSP taking both games. In their first matchup of the season, Concordia came out on top at the Gangelhoff Center, 81-69.
Three Golden Bears scored double digits, Lydia Haack led the way with 18 points. Leah Dengerud finished the night with 17 points, going 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
With the game tied at 47 late in the third quarter, CSP pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Crookston 24-13 to earn the win.
In February the Golden Bears went on the road and defeated the Golden Eagles in Crookston, by a commanding final score of 87-60, clinching the NSIC Regular Season Championship outright in the process.
Senior center Lindsey Becher scored a season-high 24 points, going 7-of-13 (53.8%) from the field and 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the free throw line. Julia Bengtson scored 13 points and Lydia Haack scored 12 in the win.
The Golden Bears opened up a 12-2 lead early in the first quarter, before Crookston tied the game at 15 later in the period. In the second CSP settled in and took control, taking a 47-26 lead into the half.
CSP shot 50% from the field in the third quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles 18-9 in the final quarter en route to a 27 point victory.

The Golden Eagles are 3-11 overall and 2-6 in NSIC play through 14 games this season and currently sit in 14th place in the NSIC. Last Sunday the Golden Eagles dropped an out of conference matchup with South Dakota Mines by a score of 80-79.
Crookston ranks 13th in the NSIC in scoring offense, averaging 66.8 points per game this season. On defense the Golden Eagles are allowing an average of 76.1 ppg, which ranks 16th in the NSIC.
As a team Crookston is shooting 40.1% from the field, which ranks 14th in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles rank last in the conference in opponent field goal percentage at 44.1%.
