12 find the scoresheet as Golden Bears rout Jimmies, 83-50

CSP struck early and often from three-point range, cruising to a win over Jamestown.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team (10-6, 6-5 NSIC) stormed past the Jamestown Jimmies (4-11, 2-9 NSIC) on the road Friday night, 83-50. It was a complete team effort as 12 Golden Bears found the scoresheet in the season-high 33 point road win.

It's the Golden Bears largest margin of victory since a 44 point win over Bemidji State on Jan. 26, 2024. CSP led by as many as 45 points, trailing only once early in the first quarter, taking a 5-4 lead and never looking back.

The Golden Bears were hot from beyond the arc all night long, tying a season-high for three-point field goals as a team by going 14-of-30 (46.7%) from three. As a team CSP shot 27-of-61 (44.3%) from the floor, while holding the Jimmies to 16-of-61 (26.2%) shooting.

Avery Moeller led the way with a career-high 13 points off the bench, going 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range, while grabbing 7 rebounds with 1 assist and 1 steal. The offense was aided by double digit scoring from Ashley Schuelke and Ava Thompson recording 10 points each.

Schuelke was efficient from the floor, hitting on 4-of-5 attempts from the field and 2-of-2 attempts from beyond the arc. The junior dished out 5 assists and grabbed one board as well.

Thompson's 10 points are a season-best for the redshirt freshman, with 4 rebounds and 3 assists representing season-highs as well.

A trio of Golden Bears recorded 8 points, with Lydia Haack leading the way, going 3-of-4 from the field with 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 14 minutes on the floor. Leah Dengerud dropped eight as well, going 2-of-3 from beyond the arc with 3 rebounds. Lauren Feddema provided eight off the bench, with 3 rebounds as well.

Lauren Wilson scored 7 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 assists, Emma Mommsen and Norah Danielson tallied 6 points each, Ella Campbell scored 3 points, Cassidy Pitzl and Ayana Bousum found the scoresheet as well with 2 points apiece.

The Jimmies led just once, a 4-2 advantage early in the first, before CSP took control on a three-point bucket from Ashley Schuelke closing the quarter with a 18-4 run and leading for the remaining 38:01 of game time. The Golden Bears hot start was made possible by hitting on 4-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc in the opening quarter, a theme that continued for the remaining three quarters.

The Golden Bears continued to pour it on in the second, outscoring the Jimmies 26-6 in the period and building a 32 point lead at the halftime break. Concordia tacked on 26 more points in the third, shooting 8-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range, cruising to a 33 point road win.

CSP won the board battle, outrebounding the Jimmies by a 49-34 margin. The early lead also allowed the Golden Bears to score a season-high 44 bench points.

The weekend road swing continues Saturday afternoon, Jan. 17, as the Golden Bears head to Aberdeen, South Dakota to take on the Northern State Wolves. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
