ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team is back on the road this weekend for a pair of games against NSIC North Division opponents.
On Friday, Jan. 16, the Golden Bears head to Jamestown, North Dakota to take on the Jamestown Jimmies, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. CSP will be in Aberdeen, South Dakota on Saturday night, Jan. 17, to take on Northern State with the game slated to begin at 6 p.m.
The Golden Bears split their two game homestand over the week, their record currently sits at 9-6 overall and 5-5 in the NSIC.

Last Time Out
The Golden Bears earned a split last weekend at the Gangelhoff Center, dropping Friday night's contest to MSU Moorhead in overtime by a score of, 72-70.
CSP bounced back on Saturday afternoon, taking down Minnesota Crookston in blowout fashion, 94-74.
Friday's contest saw the Golden Bears go up 7-3 early in the first, to hold a slim one point lead through one quarter of play. CSP opened up an eight-point lead early in the second quarter thanks to an 8-1 run. The Dragons narrowed the gap from there as CSP held a 37-32 advantage at the half.
The Golden Bears opened up a 12 point lead in the third, shooting 64% from the field in the quarter, closing the quarter with a 56-46 lead. MSU Moorhead outscored Concordia 18-8 in the fourth, to force overtime.
The Golden Bears led twice in the extra period, going up 68-66 on a Lauren Wilson layup. But a pair of free throws by the Dragons tied it once more, followed by back-to-back made jumpers to seal it as Moorhead took the game in overtime, 72-70.
Lauren Wilson led the way scoring 27 points in the loss, putting together her fifth 20+ point game of the season. The junior forward was efficient floor, converting on 13-of-19 shots, adding 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks to her final line.
Lydia Haack recorded a double-double in the loss, scoring 18 points and dishing out 11 assists, adding in 9 boards to fall one shy of the triple-double.
CSP looked for a bounce back win on Saturday afternoon against Minnesota Crookston. The first half was a tightly contested affair that saw the Golden Eagles hit on 5-of-6 attempts from three point range to lead 25-18 at the end of the first.
An 8-2 run in the second helped the Golden Bears tie the game at 40, with CSP leading at the half, 46-45. CSP took control late in the third, tying the game at 54 and closing out the quarter with a 17-4 run to open up a 71-58 lead.
In the final quarter the Golden Bears led by as many as 21, going on to win by 20 in their best team shooting performance of the season, going 34-of-58 (58.6%) from the field in the win.
Lauren Wilson once again led on the scoresheet, dropping 31 points while shooting 12-of-14 from the field and 7-of-9 at the free throw line. It is the third time this season Wilson has scored 30 or more points in a game, after posting 34 points two other times this season.
Senior guard Lydia Haack turned in another strong night, putting up 23 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while going 3-of-5 from three-point range and 8-of-9 at the charity stripe.
Leah Dengerud and Ashley Schuelke also turned in double-digit point totals with 13 and 11 apiece in the win.
Dynamic Duo
For the second straight week a Golden Bear was named NSIC South Player of the Week, with Lauren Wilson receiving the award for the second time this season. Across two games Wilson averaged 29.0 points, while going 25-of-33 (75.7%) from the field.
Lydia Haack was named NSIC South Player of the Week last week after her 44 point performance against Winona State. Haack was named to the NSIC's Shining Five this week after averaging 20.5 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds per game over the weekend.
Golden Bears by the Numbers
This season the Golden Bears rank second in the NSIC in scoring offense, averaging 77.1 points per game this season. On defense CSP ranks 11th in the conference in scoring, allowing an average of 71.7 ppg.
CSP ranks third in the NSIC in rebounding, averaging 39.7 per game. In opponent rebounding, the Golden Bears rank 15th at 38.8 opponent boards per game.

CSP's leading shooter from beyond the arc is Lydia Haack, hitting on 33-of-81 (40.7%) of her attempts from three point range, which ranks third in the NSIC. Leah Dengerud leads the team in three-point attempts going 33-of-97 (34%) from beyond the arc, good for 10th in the NSIC.
Lydia Haack is averaging 7.0 assists per game this season, to lead NSIC and rank third in Division II in that category. Haack also leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio at 2.7, good for fifth in Division II.

The Golden Bears have played the Jimmies on seven prior occasions, with CSP holding a 7-0 record in those matchups. The last time the two teams squared off was back in 2022 with Concordia taking the game by a score of 67-51.
Friday's game will be the first time that the two teams have met since Jamestown moved up to Division II and joined the NSIC prior to the 2025-26 season.
Their last matchup was an out of conference game on Nov. 25, 2022, the Golden Bears earned the 16 point in behind a 15 point night from Lindsey Becher at the Gangelhoff Center.
After three lead changes in the first three minutes of play, CSP took over, closing out the first quarter with an 11-4 run and a 20-11 lead. In the second quarter the Concordia offense took control, going 10-of-19 from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc to open up a 47-28 lead at the half.
Jamestown limited CSP to just eight points in the third, but only managed to score 13 of their own as the Golden Bears led by 14 at the end of three. The Golden Bears held the Jimmies to just 14-of-49 (28.6%) shooting for the night as they earned a 67-51 win.
Leah Dengerud notched her first career bucket late in the fourth, nailing a three-pointer to close out the scoring for CSP.
About the Jimmies
Through 14 games this season the Jimmies are 4-10 overall with a 2-8 record in NSIC play. Jamestown is currently riding a seven game losing streak, with their last win coming on Dec. 6, a 60-58 win over UMary.
Last weekend the Jimmies took a pair of losses on the road against Augustana and Wayne State. Falling to the Vikings on Friday night in Sioux Falls, 71-65. Followed by a loss to the Wildcats by a score of 55-48.
This season the Jimmies rank last in the NSIC in scoring offense, averaging 61.1 points per game. On defense the Jimmies are in the middle of the pack, ranking ninth in the NSIC, allowing an average of 69.6 ppg.
Jamestown ranks last in the NSIC in team field goal percentage, hitting on 37.3% of their attempts from the field this season. In terms of opponent field goal percentage, the Jimmies rank eighth, holding opponents to 41.1% shooting this season.

The Golden Bears and Wolves have played each other 45 times, with their first occurring in 1994, Northern State holds a 25-20 advantage in that span. Since joining the NSIC the two teams have played each other 37 times, with the Wolves owning a 21-16 record in conference play.
Last season the two teams played each other three times, splitting the regular season series at one game apiece. The Golden Bears and Wolves met once more in the NSIC Tournament Semifinals, with CSP earning the win to advance to the NSIC Championship game.
Lydia Haack and Lindsey Becher led the way for CSP in the Semifinal matchup, posting 18 and 16 points as the Golden Bears rolled to a 66-44 win in Sioux Falls.
Northern State held a 13-5 lead early on before CSP ended the quarter with a 16-2 run, to hold a 21-15 lead at the end of the first. In the second the Golden Bears used a 6-0 run to hold a 35-26 lead at the half.
The Wolves cut the deficit to just four with three minutes to play in the third quarter, but a pair of three point plays from Lauren Wilson and Lydia Haack put CSP ahead by double digits once more. The Fourth quarter was all Golden Bears, as they outscored the Wolves 16-6 to secure the 22 point win.

Northern State holds a 9-7 overall record and 4-6 record in NSIC play through 16 games this season. The Wolves currently sit in ninth place in the conference this season.
