BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) released its updated All-Sports Standings following the winter sports season and Concordia-St. Paul sits in fourth place overall with the women in third and the men in sixth.
The Golden Bears' 83 points in the overall standings are 2.5 points ahead of fifth-place UMary (80.5) and just a single point behind third-place Sioux Falls (84). Standings will be updated once again following the conclusion of the spring season. The Golden Bears finished in sixth place in the overall standings a year ago, tallying 113.5 points throughout the 2023-24 academic year.
Minnesota State holds the lead in the overall and women's standings while Augustana leads the men's standings as 11 of the 18 NSIC championships are in the books. MSU has 119.0 points after earning champions in men's & women's indoor track & field. Augustana has 111 points after earning a championship in women's swimming & diving and a second place finish in men's indoor track & field.
Sioux Falls (84.0) is third in the overall standings while Concordia-St. Paul (83.0) is fourth after winning the women's basketball regular season title and sharing the men's title with SMSU. The Golden Bears finished fifth at the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships, while the men's track and field team took seventh and the women's team finished 11th at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
The NSIC All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.
The NSIC All-Sports Champions will be announced following the spring season, with the awards being presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in Moorhead, Minnesota in July.

About the NSIC
The NSIC is a 15-team, 18-sport, NCAA Division II conference with institutions located in Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The NSIC is a model Division II conference that uses high-level athletics competition to develop champions in the classroom and community while empowering student-athletes to be impactful and positive leaders. Formed in 1992 by the merger of the Northern Intercollegiate Conference (men's league) and the Northern Sun Conference (women's league), the NSIC has flourished over the past quarter century, maturing into a union of Upper Midwest colleges and universities. The NSIC has won 27 team national championships and crowned 121 individual national champions. For additional information, visit NorthernSun.org.
About NCAA Division II
The NCAA, the national governing body for college athletics, is a volunteer association of more than 1,000 colleges and universities that classify their athletics programs in one of three membership divisions. The 300+ institutions in NCAA Division II support a balanced approach in which student-athletes can earn scholarships based on their athletic ability, pursue their desired academic degree, and participate in all the campus and surrounding community have to offer. Division II student-athletes annually graduate at rates higher than their student body peers, and they have access to the best championships-participant ratio among the NCAA's three divisions. Division II gives student-athletes the unique opportunity to compete in the classroom, on the field, in their career, for their causes, and on their terms. For additional information, visit NCAA.org.
