ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse team (4-2) is set to play the Griffons of Missouri Western on Friday and conclude the weekend with the Hawks of Quincy on Sunday.
Action is set to start with the Griffons on Mar. 14 in St. Joseph, Mo. from Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium at 12 p.m. The Golden Bears will then travel to Quincy, Ill. to face the Hawks at QU Stadium starting at 12 p.m.
RECAP OF THE WEEK
Game One: No. 5 Maryville 24, CSP 4
Four Golden Bears found the net in the loss including Anna Fisher who scored her team-leading 18th goal of the season.
Junior Kayleigh Nelson led the Navy and Gold scoring her fourth goal of the season and tallying two assists to record three points against the Saints.
Freshman Katie Colleran got her first collegiate start in the net, making a season-high four saves.
Goalie Marge Lucio came in the net at the start of the third quarter in relief of Colleran. She made two saves to bring her season total to 10.
The Golden Bears faced their largest defeat of the season, falling 24-4 to the Saints who controlled the game at all times.
Game Two: CSP 11, McKendree 5
Sydney Smith highlighted the day for the Golden Bears, scoring her second hat-trick of the season. Along with her three goals, she added her first assist of the year and tallied two ground balls.
A pair of goals each from Susie Monson and Kaci Kotschevar helped add to the Navy and Gold's big day.
As a team, CSP allowed their fewest number of goals on the season with just five goals. Marking the lowest amount since last February where they also faced McKendree and held them to just three goals.
McKendree scored just one goal in the fourth quarter and were unable to claw back against a defense that was playing their best game of the season. A pair of goals to cap the game off from Monson and Anna Fisher gave Concordia the 11-5 victory.
The Golden Bears committed a season-low 11 turnovers while recording a season-high 39 total shots.
While holding the Bearcats to just five total goals, the defense tallied 18 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Junior Anna Palony led the defense with three ground balls and one caused turnover.
Katie Colleran got her second consecutive start in the net, earning her first collegiate win and making a season-high six saves.

Susie Monson leads the GLIAC in total assists (12), assists per game (2) and draw controls per game (5.33).
Meghan McGowan leads the GLIAC in caused turnovers per game with 1.83.
Anna Fisher leads the GLIAC in shots on goal per game (5.83) and ranks second in points (23) and goals (19).
Jenna Hamann ranks second in the GLIAC in assists (9) and assists per game (1.5).
As a team, the Golden Bears lead the GLIAC in assists per game (6.17) and women-down goals per game (1.5).
ABOUT THE GRIFFONS
Missouri Western posted a (10-7, 4-3 GLVC) record in the 2024 season and were picked to finish third in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 34 points.
The Griffons currently sit at 2-3 and are on a two-game losing streak, falling to Colorado Springs and Northern Michigan this past week.
Missouri Western is led by attacks Cartryn Gilreath and Sam Pruitt who have combined for 29 goals, 10 assists and 39 total points
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND MWSU
The two programs have met a total of three times dating back to February 11, 2022 where CSP won 13-8 at home. Missouri Western currently holds a 2-1 all-time advantage over the Golden Bears.
The Golden Bears are currently 0-2 in the last two seasons including last season where the Gryphons topped CSP 14-11 in St. Paul
ABOUT THE HAWKS
Quincy posted a (8-11, 3-4 GLVC) record in the 2024 season and were picked to finish fifth in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 27 points.
The Hawks currently sit at 3-2 and split a pair of games this past week, falling to No. 13 Grand Valley and then topping Northern Michigan 14-13 in overtime.
Before facing the Golden Bears, Quincy will face No. 5 Maryville and Fort Lewis in early week action.
Quincy is led by Anni Moran and Amelia Ham who combine for 44 of the team's 70 goals.
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND QUINCY
The two programs have met a total of three times dating back to February 18, 2022 where the Golden Bears took home the 20-5 win at home with CSP holding the 2-1 all-time advantage.
Last season, the Hawks took the win in a tight 12-10 contest that fell in the away team's favor.
