ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul softball team (1-7) is set to compete at THE Spring Games in Clermont, Florida from Thursday, Feb. 27 to Friday, March 7. The Golden Bears will play 12 games highlighted by a ranked opponent to start against No. 6 Wilmington (Del.) (1-1) on Thursday at 1 p.m.
Last season, the Golden Bears went 10-2 at THE Spring Games. This marked the most wins for the team at the tournament since 2012. Concordia-St. Paul has a 38-11-1 record in the last five seasons in Florida.Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Bears went 0-4 this past weekend at the Washburn Invitational falling to Emporia State, No. 13 Central Oklahoma, Pittsburg State and Washburn. Freshman Ava Blake led CSP offensively with five hits including a triple and four runs scored.
Sydney Pelzer tallied two home runs in the final game against Washburn. She led the team with four RBIs. Riley Rosenthal had four hits with three RBIs. Alexis Monty tallied two hits including a home run vs. the Ichabods.
Emmy Bowne led CSP on the mound with a 4.00 ERA. She allowed eight earned runs and tallied a team-high five strikeouts.Â
SEASON LEADERS
Blake leads the Golden Bears with a .368 batting average, tallying seven hits in 19 at-bats. Monty is slashing .292/.357/.417 with seven hits and five RBIs. Pelzer is slashing .280/.333/.640 leading the team in doubles, home runs and RBIs. Rosenthal is batting .269 with four RBIs.Â
Bowne has a season ERA of 4.52 in 21.2 innings pitched. She leads the team in strikeouts with 10. Erica McCullough has a 1.40 ERA in five innings pitched. Tatum Dunlavy and Abi Carter each have six strikeouts. Dunlavy has the lone win for the Golden Bears this season.Â

Series Record: CSP 0, WILMU 0
Wilmington enters this week after going 1-1 against West Chester (Penn.) on Sunday. The Wildcats have a Wednesday doubleheader against Florida Southern before starting competition in THE Spring Games on Thursday. Last season, Wilmington went 46-16 and made it to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.Â
Cassidy Zelano leads the Wildcats with four hits in seven at-bats. She's also recorded 2 RBIs and a double. Haley Grygo and Sydney Hatch each enter this game batting. 500. Emma Zimmerman and Grygo have hit the only other doubles on the team.
Delani Sheehan picked up the win in the opening game of the season. She pitched all seven innings in the game and tallied 13 strikeouts while giving up four earned runs. Kylee Gunkel pitched the second game with five strikeouts and gave up five earned runs in the loss.Â
WESTERN OREGON - Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3:15 p.m. - Legends Way Field 2

The Wolves enter THE Spring Games with a 2-11 record but are coming off a 4-3 win against Simon Fraser (B.C.). Sophomore Aaliya Gaboriault leads Western Oregon batting .395 with 15 hits and a double.
Kate Ronning, Jenna Bixler and Brooklyn Schneidt each have a home run. Isabelle Lewis has a .296 batting average. She leads the team in RBIs with seven and in doubles with two.Â
Kennedy Abbas is the top pitcher for the Wildcats, tallying a 3.90 ERA in 37.2 innings pitched. She's thrown 25 strikeouts and has allowed a .307 batting average this season.Â
GRAND VALLEY STATE (MICH.) - Sunday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m. - Legends Way Field 5
Series Record: GVSU 2, CSP 1
The Golden Bears last played Grand Valley State in 2023 at THE Spring Games, losing 5-3. The Lakers were ranked No. 8 at the time. CSP's lone win was in 2006.Â
Grand Valley State is 2-6 heading into THE Spring Games with 2-0 wins against MSU Moorhead and Minnesota Duluth. The Lakers lost to Winona State, 4-3.
Senior Morgan Spicer leads the Lakers slashing .318/.400/.591. She has seven hits with two doubles and two triples. MaryJane Goodman and Kylie Sinal each have a .286 batting average. The Lakers have not hit a home run in their first eight games this season.Â
Nevaeh Ingram leads GVSU on the mound with a 2.10 ERA in 20 innings pitched. She has 15 strikeouts. Karli Dorr has a 2.42 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched while throwing a team-high 19 strikeouts.Â

The Golden Bears last played the Vulcans in 2017, losing 10-0. CSP's last win was in 2015 with a 6-3 victory.Â
California (Penn.) enters this week with a 2-4 record. Freshman Makayla Jerin leads the Vulcans slashing .417/.429/.500. She has five hits with a double and three RBIs.Â
Freshman Amarah McCutcheon is slashing .357/.471/.643 with a double and a home run. Mikayla Linkous has a .333 batting average and Brianna Sersevic has a .313 batting average.Â
On the mound, Cheyenne Beayon has a 3.13 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched. She's recorded four strikeouts and has an opposing batting average of .288. Megan Nidoh has a 6.68 ERA with two strikeouts in 7.1 innings pitched.Â

The Ravens start their season at THE Spring Games against St. Cloud State and Sioux Falls (S.D.). Last season, Franklin Pierce went 27-14 with a loss in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.Â
Senior Bella Williams is the top returner for the Ravens. Last season, she tallied a team-high 44 hits with 14 doubles, a triple and a home run. She led the team with 24 RBIs. Senior Lita Vorseth also returns after tallying 39 hits, nine doubles and two triples.Â
Franklin Pierce lost two senior pitchers from last season. Their top returner is sophomore Kennedy Morris. She made 20 appearances and went 5-0 with a save last season. Morris tallied 25 strikeouts in 47.1 innings pitched.Â
LYNN (FLA.) - Monday, March 3 at 3:15 p.m. - Legends Way Field 1

The Golden Bears met Lynn for the first time in 2023, winning 3-0. The Fighting Knights are 6-7 this season and enter THE Spring Games on a six-game losing streak. Five of those losses were to ranked opponents.Â
Aun'Yale Howard and Kyra Sunga each have a .400 batting average this season. Howard has 18 hits, two triples and a double. Sunga has 14 hits, seven doubles and a triple with a team-high 12 RBIs. Teagan Riley has 10 hits with two doubles, a home run and 11 RBIs.Â
Senior Madi Prickett leads Lynn on the mound with a 2.24 ERA in 43.2 innings pitched. She is 3-3 this season with a team-high 48 strikeouts. Junior Gabriella Lindsey has a 2.84 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts.Â

The Golden Bears picked up a 10-7 win over Dominican last season and a 15-6 win in 2004. In last year's game, Monty tallied four hits with an RBI and Rosenthal had two hits including a triple and three RBIs.Â
Dominican starts its season at THE Spring Games. The Chargers were picked 10th in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. Dominican went 12-27 last season.Â
Senior Chloe McIntosh is the top returner for the Chargers. She had a .315 batting average last season with 48 hits, seven doubles and seven home runs. Junior Emily Baxter is the top returner on the mound. Last year, she had a 4.93 ERA in 180.1 innings pitched with 140 strikeouts.Â
SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE - Tuesday, March 4 at 10:15 a.m. - Legends Way Field 4
Series Record: CSP 0, SNHU 0
SNHU starts its season at THE Spring Games. The Penmen went 25-18 last season with a first-round loss in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.Â
Junior Peyton Feldman is the top returner. She was the only SNHU batter with a .300+ batting average last season. She batted .381 with 59 hits, 11 doubles and a home run. Senior Mackenzie Bruggeman returns after hitting a team-high eight home runs.Â
Sophomore Julianna Colbert returns on the mound after tallying a 1.47 ERA last year. She threw 51 strikeouts in 71.1 innings pitched.Â
ASHLAND (OHIO) - Thursday, March 6 at 8 a.m. - Legends Way Field 4
Series Record: CSP 5, AU 1
The Golden Bears last played Ashland in 2022, winning 2-0. CSP's lone loss was in 2012. This season, the Eagles are 3-3 and opened with a 3-1 victory over No. 3 Indianapolis.Â
Sophomore Sophia Martin is slashing .538/.571/.846 this season. She has seven hits, two doubles, a triple and five RBIs. Cassidy Shafer is hitting .450 with nine singles. Danielle Robbins is batting .368 with seven singles.Â
Bryn Grabowski leads the Eagles on the mound with a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings pitched. She's 2-0 entering this week with 10 strikeouts. Delaney Lis has a 2.93 ERA in 14.1 innings pitched with a team-high 14 strikeouts.Â
FINDLAY (OHIO) - Thursday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. - Legends Way Field 4
Series Record: CSP 3, UF 2
Findlay was one of two losses the Golden Bears suffered at THE Spring Games last season shutting CSP out, 10-0. Concordia last won against the Oilers in 2004, sweeping a doubleheader that season.Â
The Oilers are 5-1 this season with a doubleheader split against No. 15 Indianapolis. Findlay hosts Ferris State (Mich.) on Saturday before starting THE Spring Games against CSP on Thursday, March 6.Â
Freshman Kenzie Woods is slashing .550/.571/.950 heading into this week. She has 11 hits, one double, two triples, a home run and nine RBIs. Freshman Meghan Heinsman also has had a stellar start slashing .455/.478/.955. She has five doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs.Â
Junior Annika Bredel is batting .450 with a double and a home run. Pitcher Kora Navarro has a .364 batting average with eight hits, two doubles and a triple. She has seven RBIs as well.Â
Navarro leads the Oilers on the mound with a 3.09 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched. She's only thrown one strikeout so far this season. Alexys Antal has a 2-0 record with a team-high seven strikeouts.Â
NORTHWOOD (MICH.) - Friday, March 7 at 9:45 a.m. - Sleepy Hollow Field 3
Series Record: CSP 5, NU 1
The Golden Bears last played Northwood in 2011, winning 4-3 and 6-4. CSP's lone loss was in 2006 to the No. 19 Timberwolves, 2-1.Â
Northwood starts its season on Friday against McKendree and was picked No. 3 in the GMAC Preseason Coaches Poll. The Timberwolves went 35-20 last season and won the GMAC last year. Northwood went 0-2 in the NCAA Midwest Regional, ending its season.Â
Senior Brittany Steimel is the top returner after she batted .355 last season. Steimel had 56 hits, 11 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 42 RBIs. Junior Ashley Ziel had a .327 batting average with 11 doubles and five home runs.Â
Senior Brittani Mutter is the top returner on the mound. She had a 3.19 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched and threw 44 strikeouts. Northwood's top pitcher, Emily Cox, graduated after posting a 1.47 ERA in 166.2 innings pitched.Â
OHIO DOMINICAN - Friday, Mar. 7 at 12 p.m. - Sleepy Hollow Field 1
Series Record: CSP 1, ODU 1
The Golden Bears picked up a 5-3 win against Ohio Dominican in 2020, but lost 3-1 in 2017. The Panthers are 3-5 this season and play Ferris State, Seton Hill and Charleston before heading down to THE Spring Games.Â
Senior Kaleigh Golden is batting .519 with 14 singles and four RBIs. Sophomore Addie Triplett is slashing .500/.583/.611 with two doubles and two RBIs. Erica Massey is batting .393 and Kendrick Sterling is batting .375. The Panthers have not hit a home run or triple yet this season.Â
Freshman Amelia Spidell leads Ohio Dominican on the mound with a 3.82 ERA. She's thrown 11 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched. Freshman Emma Grau has a 3.89 ERA in 18 innings pitched with 10 strikeouts.
