MANKATO, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up their weekend in Mankato at the Maverick Premier #2 hosted by Minnesota State on Saturday afternoon.
The meet was a scored event, with the CSP men finishing second out of nine teams with 69 points and the women taking fifth out of 11 teams with 29 points.
Freshman sprinter
Del Johnson continued his standout first-year campaign, breaking another school record with a 21.70-second clocking in the 200-meter dash to win the event. His time was exactly 0.1 seconds faster than the previous record of 21.80 seconds set last year by
Thomas Dietel. Johnson's converted time of 21.32 seconds is an NCAA provisional qualifier, ranking second in the NSIC and 15
th in all of Division II this season. Johnson also competed in the 60-meter dash, placing second with a personal best time of 6.86 seconds.
Senior hurdler
Davion Williams also secured another NCAA provisional qualifier, clocking a personal-best time of 8.08 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to place first in the preliminaries before being disqualified in the finals. That time ranks fourth in the NSIC this season and is tied for 31
st in all of Division II.
Junior
Maya Lavendusky shattered her personal record in the shot put, using a toss of 13.47 meters (44' 2.5") to claim an individual victory in the event. That distance is good for third in the NSIC so far this season. Freshman
Bernie Barnhardt was just behind her in second place, also setting a new personal record with a distance of 12.59 meters (41' 3.75").
Junior
Nyadio Chan clocked her second-fastest time of the season in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:19.14 to claim fifth place.
Senior distance runner Matthew Krimmel claimed another first-place finish for Concordia, winning the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:52.44.
Junior thrower
Dan Otto place in the top four in a pair of events, finishing third in the shot put with a mark of 15.81 meters (51' 10.5") and fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 17.22 meters (56' 6").
Junior
Jeffrey Odamtten cleared a season-high 1.74 meters (5' 6.5") in the high jump, securing a seventh-place finish.
The women's 4x400-meter relay squad of

Destiny Mattingly finished fifth with a time of 4:02.24.
