ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia- St. Paul women's lacrosse team (1-0) is set to take on the Cavaliers of Walsh (0-0) in their home-opener at the Concordia Dome this Sunday Feb. 16 at 12 p.m.
RECAP OF THE WEEKÂ
The Golden Bears 12-8 win over Lewis marked the first season-opening win since 2020 and 4-5 overall in season openers. Sunday's victory tallied the fifth win over the Flyers to give CSP the 5-0 all-time against them.Â
Senior Anna Fisher scored a career-high six goals in the win and tied for fourth in single-game goals scored all-time for the Golden Bears. Fisher also added an assist to her career day to tally seven points to add her name at eighth all-time in total points scored in a game for the program.Â
Five Golden Bears including Fisher found the net in game one for the Golden Bears, Sara Kaiser, Susie Monson, Sydney Smith and Jenna Hamann.Â
Sophomore Erika Holm started in the net, making three saves and earning the win before Marge Lucio entered in the second half. Lucio also tallied three saves in the net.
Monson led the team in draw controls, recording five to add to her stellar resume.Â
Junior Natalie Brownfield accumulated a team-high four caused turnovers with four ground balls to lead the CSP defense.
In the final tally, Concordia rifled off 30 shots with 25 of them coming on goal to Lewis who had 20 shots with only 14 hitting on goal.Â

Anna Fisher leads the GLIAC in goals per game (6), Points per game (7) and shots per game (10) and was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week.Â
Jenna Hamann leads the GLIAC in assists per game with two.Â
Susie Monson is tied for first in the GLIAC with five draw controls.Â
Natalie Brownfield leads the GLIAC in caused turnovers with four.
Brownfield and Sydney Smith lead the GLIAC in ground balls per game with four each.Â
Marge Lucio leads the GLIAC in goals against average with 6.00 and save percentage with .500.Â
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP and WALSH
The two programs met for the first time last season where the Cavaliers got the 14-3 win at home in North Canton, Ohio.Â
The Golden Bears were led by goals from Kennedy Bolander, Cayla Jungwirth and Anna Fisher.Â
ABOUT THE CAVALIERSÂ
Walsh posted a (12-5, 7-0 G-MAC) record in the 2024 season and were picked to finish first in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, coming off a fourth-straight G-MAC Championship.Â
Walsh will open their season on Friday playing at Northern Michigan before traveling to St. Paul to take on the Golden Bears.Â
The Cavaliers bring back reigning G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Mallory Miller and standout players Rachel Black, Grace Santee and Sidney Klinger to be led by reigning G-MAC Co-Coach of the Year, Erin Backinoff.
