ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's swimming and diving team shined on day two of the WildBear Invite with seven first-place finishes and a broken school record to keep themselves firmly locked in first-place as a team on Friday evening at the Butler Center.
With their day two score of 1,062 points, the Golden Bears sit 514 teams ahead of St. Kate's in second place.
Once again it was junior Sophie Leo lighting it up for the Navy and Gold, adding two top-finishes to tally her 11th and 12th wins of the season.
Senior Chloe Rihon followed up her stellar day one with another first-place finish in the 400-Yard IM with a time of 4:42.18.
Sophomore Claire Briest added a first-place finish in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.80 in her breakout season for Concordia.
Ava Reich, a sophomore, notched her second school record of the meet, this time in the 200-Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:13.65.
On the diving board, sophomore Chloe Jones found herself on the top of the podium in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 403.05. Jones won by a margin of 152.25 points to lead all divers.
Wrapping up the top-finishes was both the 400-Yard Medley Relay and the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, recording a two-relay sweep for the second consecutive day.
As a team, the Golden Bears tallied 23 top-five finishes and will look to solidify their top-team placement on the third and final day of the WildBear tomorrow beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Butler Center.
