KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball (2-1) team earned a dominant road victory over the Truman State Bulldogs (1-2) on Thursday afternoon. Lydia Haack dropped 25 points for the Golden Bears in the win. The senior guard went 10-of-19 from the field and 1-of-4 from three, while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
Haack tallied 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the win, while providing a spark on defense with 6 steals.
Lauren Wilson continued her hot start to the 2025-26 season, the junior scored 19 points, while grabbing 9 boards and going 8-of-12 from the field. Defensively, Wilson provided 1 block on the afternoon.
Leah Dengerud was CSP's third double digits scorer of the afternoon with 10 points, the senior also came away with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Emma Mommsen, Lauren Feddema and Norah Danielson each provided 6 points off the bench for CSP.
As a team the Golden Bears went 32-of-65 (49.2%) from the field, while making the most of their opportunities at the charity stripe going 11-of-14 (84.6%). On defense CSP blitzed the Bulldogs, forcing 10 turnovers and coming away with 14 steals.
With the game tied at 13 in the first quarter the Golden Bears closed out the quarter with a 9-3 run to go up 24-18. A pair of layups from Norah Danielson and Lauren Wilson extended the CSP lead to seven early in the second quarter.
Avery Moeller drilled a three pointer in the closing seconds of the half to give Concordia a nine point lead at the break.
Lydia Haack nailed a three ball of her own in the opening minutes of the third period to get the Golden Bear lead back to nine, 42-33. From there CSP took control closing out the third quarter with a 13-3 run and a 16 point advantage.
From there the Golden Bears extended their lead further, with a Lauren Wilson layup putting CSP up 22. Emma Mommsen worked her way into the paint for a layup to give CSP its biggest lead of the afternoon at 28.
When the final buzzer sounded the Golden Bears came away with a commanding 82-60 win.
CSP had the advantage in the paint coming away with 50 points to Truman's 24. The Golden Bear capitalized on turnovers as well with 26 points off turnovers as well.
Concordia once again had the advantage on the glass outrebounding Truman 39-28.
The Golden Bears wrap up their two game road trip tomorrow afternoon in St. Louis against Maryville University, tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
