ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer team (6-1-2, 3-1-2 NSIC) is set for a two-game homestand this weekend, facing the Dragons of MSU Moorhead and the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston.

Action will begin on Friday at 6 p.m. against the Dragons and wrap-up on Sunday with the Golden Eagles at 1 p.m. Both games will take place at Sea Foam Stadium right here in St. Paul, Minn.

RECAP OF THE WEEK
Game One: CSP 2, WSC 2
Freshman Brooke Nelson highlighted the game for the Golden Bears, scoring both goals to mark her first collegiate multi-goal game.

In the first half, the Navy and Gold came out fast and furious, taking just over a minute before putting the first score on the board with a quick pass from Lexi Pettit to Nelson. Pettit's assist marked her third assist of the season, which is a new career-high.

After a back-and-forth of shots from both teams the first half ended with the Golden Bears leading 1-0 while outshooting the Wildcats 6-2.

Coming out from halftime, Concordia was quick on their feet once again taking just over five minutes before adding another score to the board. Nelson got her second goal of the game on a Wayne State miscue to extend the Golden Bears lead 2-0.

CSP riffled off four more shots before the Wildcats gained possession and found themselves in corner kick position to send a shot flying right by the Navy and Gold's defense to put their first score of the day on the board.

With the score now 2-1 in favor of Concordia, the Wildcats were not going to back down and showed their offensive pressure. With just under three minutes to play Wayne evened the score with a high shot in the back of the net.

Both teams were able to get one more shot attempt with both being unsuccessful to end the game in a tie.

Game Two: CSP 2, AU 0
Sophia Haase and Brooke Nelson led the squad, each scoring their team-leading fourth goal of the season to give Concordia its fourth shutout game of the year.

It was an exciting and fast-paced first half with both goals coming in the first seven minutes of the game.

Haase scored the first goal of the day and the eventual game-winner in the fourth-minute on a quick pass from Lainie Wehmhoff. The assist from Wehmhoff marked her first collegiate point in the Navy and Gold.

Just under two minutes later Brooke Nelson found the back of the net to give the Golden Bears an insurance goal to tally her second straight game with a goal and third total goal of the weekend.

The Golden Bears showed a stout defense in the second half, seeing 10 shots and making five saves while not allowing a score.

Augustana rifled off one final shot but it was not enough after facing a dominant Concordia team that was hungry for a statement win.

Junior goalkeeper Potter earned her seventh start of the season in net, marking a season-high seven saves to bring her season total to 18 while being a steady force throughout the contest.

Head coach Steve Bellis earned his 120th career win at the helm of the Golden Bears.
