ALLENDALE, Mich. - Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse (1-3 GLIAC) fell on the road 18-4 on Friday night at #8 Grand Valley State.
The Golden Bears remain on the road for their regular season road finale on Sunday at Davenport (5-6, 0-3 GLIAC) with an 11 a.m. (CT) start time in Grand Rapids.
Grand Valley State scored the first four goals of the contest when
Kennedy Bolander put CSP on the board just over 10 minutes into play, with CSP heading into the quarter break trailing 6-2.
In the second quarter, the Golden Bears and Lakers played to a 2-2 draw, with CSP limiting the Lakers to goals at 13:10 and 1:25 remaining in the half, while
Shelby Hansen scored with just over five and a half minutes to play before
Anna Fisher found
Taylor Preece with two seconds to go before halftime for an 8-3 score at the break.
The Lakers picked up their defensive performance in the third, though, blanking the Golden Bears while scoring four goals as part of a 5-0 run.
Susie Monson stopped the Laker run early in the fourth, but GVSU was too much, scoring five more before the final horn.
Four different players scored and five different players scored and assisted in the game.
Hailey Hartlage added three caused turnovers, three ground balls, and a draw control while Monson and
Anna Palony each had three ground balls.
Claire Flahaven added two draw controls and a caused turnover.
Marge Lucio registered nine saves in the contest, picking up three in each of the first three quarters.
The Lakers were led by Jillian Bingman's seven points on four goals and three assists while Ella Boose added four goals and an assist.
