Golden Bears set for road trip to Northern Michigan

Concordia to play first GLIAC road game of 2024 season this Saturday

ST. PAUL, Minn. - This Saturday, Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse (6-7, 1-1 GLIAC) will continue its conference schedule with an 11 a.m. (CT) game at Northern Michigan (10-3, 1-1 GLIAC) at the Superior Dome.

The Golden Bears have split six consecutive weekends, with the lone exception being a season-opening 14-11 loss at home to Missouri Western in the team's first (of three) one-game weekend.

The Wildcats also have split their first two GLIAC contests of the year, falling 17-6 at home to #9 Grand Valley State last Friday before an 18-7 win over Davenport on Sunday. CSP and NMU have faced a number of common opponents this year: Lewis, Quincy, Maryville, McKendree, Rockhurst, William Jewell, Missouri Western State, Ashland, Grand Valley State, and Davenport. NMU is 7-3 while CSP is 4-6.

Concordia holds a 7-6 all-time record against the Wildcats, winning the first six in the series from 2017 to 2019, while NMU has won six of the last seven games from 2021 to present, with a pair of 3-game winning streaks around CSP's road win on April 13, 2022. Concordia is 4-3 at the Superior Dome, last picking up a road win against the Wildcats on April 13, 2022 (13-10), dropping their most recent trip 13-11 in 2023. Last year, the teams played three times with three close games, 13-11 at NMU, 11-7 at CSP, and 15-11 in the GLIAC Tournament in Allendale, Michigan.
