LIBERTY, Mo. - Paced by seven points each from
Anna Fisher and
Susie Monson, Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse cruised to its second-straight 12-goal road win, defeating William Jewell (1-6) 19-7 on Friday evening.
Concordia has won back-to-back road games by 12-goal margins and is 3-1 in its last four contests, and will remain in the Kansas City, Missouri area for the weekend, heading from the northeastern KC-area to just south of KC to face Rockhurst University on Sunday at noon.
Fisher produced career-highs in points (7) and goals (5) and tied her career-highs with two assists and four ground balls.
Monson, meanwhile, continued to show absolute dominance in the middle of the field, securing 10 draw controls to become the fourth player in program history to reach 100 for her career (101), hitting the mark in just over one and a half seasons. She also matched a school record with six assists (new career-high) and tied her career-high with seven points for the third time (all this season).
After a competitive first half that saw Concordia hold a slim 8-5 lead at the break, Monson took matters into her own hands in the third quarter, winning the first three draw controls as CSP scored three times in less than a minute and a half with Monson assisting twice, pushing the lead to 11-5.
It was the start of an 8-0 third quarter and a 9-0 scoring run that was finally snapped with 6:01 to play in the game.
The Concordia defense only allowed two shots on goal in the second half, with
Claire Flahaven producing a pair of caused turnovers and securing three draw controls. Flahaven becomes the fourth player in program history to reach 50 career draw controls, like Monson, in just over a season and a half.
Concordia would carry a 38-12 final shot margin, including a dominant 19-9 performance on the draw and 29-20 in ground balls.

Kennedy Bolander with four goals and
Cayla Jungwirth with three goals and an assist.
Taylor Preece also added three points (two goals, one assist),
Hailey Hartlage had a 2-goal game and

While Fisher had four ground balls, her effort was tied for a team-high with
Paige Nicklaus and
Shelby Hansen, with Hansen collecting a pair of caused turnovers as part of a six-player tie for the team-high with 17 total team caused turnovers.
Seven different Golden Bears scored, and the team had 14 assists on 18 goals, and committed just six fouls.
William Jewell was led by Kaylee Gross' hat trick, four draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Olivia Fornelli added two goals and an assist, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.
