ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul softball squad (5-2, 0-0 NSIC) is in Florida this upcoming week for THE Spring Games. This will be the third straight season that the Golden Bears are competing in the Sunshine State.Â

SCHEDULE INFORMATION
Concordia will face 11 different NCAA Division II opponents from Mar. 1-8. The Golden Bears are scheduled to play 12 games which includes playing West Virginia Wesleyan twice.Â
On Friday, the Golden Bears open bright and early at 8 a.m. against Bridgeport (Conn.). The Purple Knights have a 2-4 record with a pair of wins against Polk State (Fla.) and are led by senior Angela Oros with a .526 batting average. CSP will then play Goldey-Beacom (Del.) at 10:30 a.m. The Lighting have a 1-7 record this season with senior outfielder Hannah Davis batting .423 and junior Brynn Bohmann batting .391 with 12 RBIs and two home runs.Â
The Golden Bears face off against Findlay (Ohio) and Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday, March 2. Findlay is 6-5 this season and already picked up its first win of THE Spring Games on Wednesday against UMary 10-1. The Oilers are led by senior Annika Bredel with a .485 batting average with nine RBIs, three doubles and three triples. Dominican is starting its season on Saturday at THE Spring Games.
Concordia-St. Paul will have a day off before playing West Virginia Wesleyan and Glenville State (W.Va.) on Monday, March 4 at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Wesleyan has a 0-3 record coming into the week and is led by sophomore catcher Andie Dizon with a .444 batting average. Glenville State is 2-1 with a pair of five-inning victories on Feb. 24. Sophomore Kylee Goodman has a .714 batting average and Junior Monica Rodelo has a .667 batting average lead the Pioneers this season.
On Tuesday, March 5, Concordia-St. Paul will face Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) at 9 a.m. and Montana State-Billings at 11:15 a.m. Trevecca Nazarene has an 11-5 record and junior pitcher Ashlan Sensing has posted a 1.49 ERA with a 5-3 record throwing 68 strikeouts. On the hitting side, freshman Addy Grace Summers leads the Trojans with a .485 batting average, and senior Kendall Andrews has hit a team-high 20 RBIs. Montana State-Billings has a 3-6-1 record and is led by junior Jazlyn Kalehuawehe with a .500 batting average, four home runs and seven RBIs.Â
The Golden Bears will have another day off before playing Clarion (Pa.) at 2 p.m. and West Virginia Wesleyan for a second time at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. Clarion is 0-4 this season and led by sophomore Emily Bechleitner slashing .429/.429/.571 with four RBIs and a triple.Â
Concordia-St. Paul will finish out the week in Florida on Friday, March 8 against St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) and Thomas More (Ky.). St. Thomas Aquinas is 2-6 this season with Eliana Raposo hitting .357 and Elyse Marcano hitting in seven RBIs. Thomas More is 1-9 with junior Josie Wefer leading the Saints hitting .357 this season. Concordia-St. Paul's opponents this week have a combined record of 28-50-1.Â

LAST TIME OUTÂ
CSP last competed at the Emporia State on Feb. 18-19. The Golden Bears went 3-0 with wins against Maryville (Mo.), Missouri-St. Louis and Sioux Falls. Freshman pitcher Emmy Bowne picked up her second win of the season in an 8-2 victory against Maryville. She pitched all seven innings throwing four strikeouts while giving up six hits and one earned run.Â
Sophomore Riley Rosenthal tallied three RBIs in the game with a 2RBI single in the fourth inning. Freshman Alexis Monty finished with two hits, an RBI and scored twice. Senior Annalise Scamehorn and freshman Bryleigh Dana each hit two RBIs.Â
The Golden Bears then turned around after the Maryville victory to pick up another win against Missouri-St. Louis, 12-2. The Golden Bears scored seven runs in the second inning and four runs in the fifth inning to pick up the five-inning victory. Junior pitcher Erica McCullough grabbed her second win of the season giving up three hits and two earned runs in five innings pitched with one strikeout and one walk.Â
Monty led the Golden Bears with three hits, three RBIs and she scored three times. Rosenthal hit two doubles in the game batting in two runners. Senior Alexus Houston and junior Sydney Pelzer each batted in two RBIs.
Concordia-St. Paul needed all eight innings in its 11-10 walk-off victory against Sioux Falls in the final game on Feb. 19. Houston hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Concordia the victory.
Junior catcher Danni Sharum hit a three-run home run to tie the game in the seventh inning and a 2RBI double in the eighth inning to tie the game for the second time. Senior Clara Heislen and Pelzer also scored earlier in the contest off of a pair of solo home runs.
Heislen picked up four hits in the contest and Monty tallied three hits. Sharum batted in five runs for the Golden Bears and Heislen batted in three runs. The Golden Bears batted .436 as a team.Â
McCullough picked up the win pitching 4.1 innings with three strikeouts. She gave up three earned runs and two walks. Bowne started the game pitching 3.2 innings with one strikeout.Â
SEASON LEADERS
Monty leads the Golden Bears in hitting with a .500 batting average which is sixth in the NSIC. She has a .615 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage. The freshman has hit three doubles and a tied team-high eight RBIs.
Heislen leads the team with a .556 on-base percentage, which is sixth in the NSIC. She has a .455 batting average with five RBIs. Junior Rachel Novak also has a .455 batting average with three RBIs. Scamehorn has a .400 batting average with a .600 slugging average and Sharum is also tied for the team lead in RBIs with eight.Â
Bowne has posted a 2.78 ERA in 27.2 innings pitched this season. She has tallied 16 strikeouts and given up 11 earned runs this season. She has the 15th-best ERA in the NSIC. McCullough has a 3-1 record this season with a 5.43 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched. She's thrown nine strikeouts and given up 15 earned runs.Â
