MSU MOORHEAD SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears enter Saturday's meeting with the Dragons with a record of 34-8 in 42 previous meetings as CSP has controlled the series in recent history. Since 2001, Concordia has picked up 34 wins in the last 35, including 19 in a row since 2008. During that winning streak, the Golden Bears have only dropped three sets as they have collected sweeps in 16 of those contests. In 20 all-time meetings in St. Paul, Concordia has gone 17-3.

LAST MEETING VS MSUM
Just over a year ago to the day on Sept. 24, 2022, CSP took all three sets against MSUM in Moorhead.

It was a dominant all-around performance as the Golden Bears hit an impressive .324 with 44 kills while holding the Dragons to -.020 with 17 kills in the match. It marked the first time since Oct. 18, 2016 against Minnesota State that Concordia hit above .300 and held their opponent below .000 in the same match. The 17 kills allowed were also the fewest allowed since Rollins finished with just 13 back on Aug. 25, 2018.

CSP added a 63-43 advantage in digs as well as a 6.0-3.0 advantage in blocks in the win while both teams picked up three aces.

Teagan Starkey and Jasmine Mulvihill each tallied double-doubles in the win as Starkey picked up her fourth with 39 assists and 13 digs while Mulvihill collected her fifth with a match-high 16 kills and 10 digs.

Ellie Sieling paced the squad with 14 digs while Emma Schmidt chipped in seven kills and 13 digs on the afternoon. Kora Kritzberger finished with six kills on 12 swings for a .500 hitting percentage to go along with three blocks in her two sets of play.

NORTHERN STATE SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's meeting between the Golden Bears and the Wolves marks the 48th time the two schools have met as CSP holds a record of 37-10 in the previous 47 meetings. The Golden Bears have dominated the series since 2003 as Concordia has won 35 of the past 38 meetings. All three of those wins for NSU during that stretch have come since 2015 with a four-setter in 2015, a five-setter in 2018 and a sweep in 2021. In 27 meetings on their home court, CSP has compiled a record of 23-4.

LAST MEETING VS NSU
In the NSIC Tournament quarterfinal at Gangelhoff Center on Nov. 11, 2022, the second-seeded Golden Bears swept seventh-seeded Northern State.

Concordia finished the match with a comfortable 49-42 edge in kills in the match, but Wayne State won the efficiency battle with just five hitting errors compared to 23 for the Golden Bears. The result was a .359-.215 edge as the Wildcats cleared .300 as a team for the second match in a row against CSP. Aiding the effort for WSC was a 9.0-2.0 advantage in blocks while Concordia collected 51 digs compared to 44 for Wayne State.

CSP's attack couldn't have been much more evenly spread out as four different players registered exactly 10 kills while Jasmine Mulvihill followed close behind with eight. Katie Mattson turned her 17 swings into 10 kills as she hit a team-best .529 while Emma Schmidt and Kennedy Brady had identical 10-3-20 lines to finish at .350. Sophia Andersen joined the trio with 10 kills on 26 attempts.

Teagan Starkey collected her third double-double of the season with 30 assists and 11 digs while Ellie Sieling paced the squad with 12 digs.

LAST TIME OUT
Over the weekend, Concordia claimed a sweep at Minnesota State on Thursday before following it up with another on Saturday in a home matchup with Winona State.

On a night where efficient offense proved hard to come by on Thursday, the Golden Bears were able to grind their way to victory as they finished with a mark of .196 (47-25-112) while holding the Mavericks to .077 (22-15-91) in the win. Jasmine Mulvihill paced the squad offensively with a match-best 14 kills while she also joined Ellie Sieling with a match-high 12 digs on the night. Mulvihill added a pair of aces and a pair of blocks while hitting .320 in the win. Teagan Starkey nearly finished with a double-double of her own with 41 assists and nine digs while adding two aces.

On Saturday, the Golden Bears claimed their third consecutive sweep in their NSIC home opener against Winona State. The Golden Bears controlled play in nearly every aspect of play as they held advantages of 41-22 in kills, 50-34 in digs, 10.0-2.0 in blocks and 7-2 in aces to aid their effort. Efficiency was also in Concordia's favor as they hit .364 or better in each of the final two sets to finish at .319 for the match while holding WSU to below .100 for all three sets for a mark of .041 overall. Sophia Andersen and Jasmine Mulvihill combined for 23 of the team's 41 kills as Andersen led all players with 13 kills to go along with three blocks and three digs with a .407 hitting percentage on 27 attempts. Mulvihill was even more efficient as she hit .450 with 10 kills while adding six digs.

IN THE POLLS
After two wins over the weekend, CSP held their spot at #2 in the AVCA Coaches Poll. Concordia has been a mainstay near the top of the poll for nearly two decades as they have ranked outside the top-10 for just three weeks since 2003, never ranking below #15. The Golden Bears have ranked #1 at least once in 16 of the past 18 seasons, including week two of this year. In total, CSP has spent an incredible 84 weeks at the top team in the country since debuting there in the 2004 preseason poll.

STAT LEADERS
So far this season, the Golden Bears rank near the top of the nation in several statistical categories.

Teagan Starkey's 13.00 assists per set rank first in the country as she has guided the offense to a nation-leading 15.02 kills per set and a fourth-best .288 hitting percentage through 13 matches. The Golden Bears also have two of the top six in kills per set in the NSIC as Sophia Andersen ranks second (3.67) and Jasmine Mulvihill ranks sixth (3.61). Mulvihill and Andersen also rank fourth (4.13) and sixth (3.61), respectively, in points per set.

Jamie Guptill has paced the squad with a .344 hitting percentage, good for seventh in the league, while Ellie Sieling's 16 service aces register in at ninth.

ALL-TIME RANKS
After surpassing 1,000 career kills in the opening weekend of the 2022 season, Jasmine Mulvihill has continued to climb the ranks at CSP. Her 1,638 career kills rank fifth in program history as she sits nine behind Jessica Lucia in fourth and 25 behind Kayla Koenecke in third. Mulvihill's 3.89 career kills per set are 0.14 ahead of Jill Kalvik in second place while her 4.58 points per set are also 0.15 ahead of Kalvik. The senior also needs just 115 more digs to become the 21st member of the 1,000 dig club and sixth member of the 1,000/1,000 club.

Junior Emma Schmidt is also nearing the 1,000 dig club as her 847 career digs put her 153 shy of the mark. She also sits 242 away from the 1,000 kill club with 758 while junior Sophia Andersen has compiled 771 kills.
