GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2025 Academic All-America® volleyball teams on Tuesday, and Concordia-St. Paul sophomore
Makenna Nold was named the Academic All-American® of the Year for Division II volleyball, while both Nold and senior
Cassie Sieling earned Academic All-America First Team selections.
Nold becomes just the fourth Golden Bear and third CSP volleyball player in history to earn the prestigious honor, following Bryan Lippincott who earned the award twice in baseball in both 2010-11 and 2011-12, Riley Hanson who secured the honor in volleyball in the 2016-17 season, and
Teagan Starkey who earned the honor in volleyball just last season in 2024-25. Lippincott went on to be named CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year for all sports at the conclusion of the 2012 season.
Nold has a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a nursing major. She earned AVCA Division II Player of the Year honors and was named both AVCA and D2CCA Central Region Player of the Year. Nold earned AVCA and D2CCA All-America first team honors. She was selected as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year and earned her second consecutive first team all-conference accolade. Nold finished second in the nation in total kills (563), eighth in total attacks (1,334) and 11th in kills per set (4.40).
Sieling, a mathematics major with a 4.00 GPA, wrapped up her four-year Concordia career with an impressive senior season, ranking seventh in the NSIC with 4.35 digs per set. She earned All-NSIC First Team honors and was named the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete for Division II Volleyball.
There are three repeat selections on the Academic All-America® teams -- Anna Coulter (East Stroudsburg), Kayla Giroux (Wayne State, Mich.) and Peyton Neff (Nebraska-Kearney).
The Division II team had a 3.96 cumulative GPA, with 12 team members maintaining a 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate and/or graduate studies.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
