Four more school records fall on day three of NSIC Championships

Maher's second-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle highlights the day

WEST FARGO, N.D. – On day three of the NSIC Swim & Dive Championships at Hulbert Aquatics Center, the Golden Bears saw four school records fall as they added 38 points to bring their total to 93, extending their lead over MSU Moorhead to 18 points.
 
Farida Maher made it three All-NSIC performances in as many days as she wrapped up a second-place finish and 17 points in the 500 yard freestyle A-Final. Her time of 5:00.70 was good for both a B-Cut and a school record.
 
Maher was joined by Charly Horn, Emma Granovsky and Chloe Rihon in the 800 yard freestyle as the quartet added another school record, earning 10 points and a 12th-place finish with a time of 8:08.22.
 
Horn and Rihon chipped in a pair of school records of their own as Horn finished the 50 yard breaststroke in 31.83 seconds while Rihon put up a time of 1:02.37 in the 100 yard IM. Horn added five points with a 12th-place result in the 100 yard breaststroke as she wrapped up the B-Final in 1:07.62.
 
Laura Vekony gave the Golden Bears a total of three individual point scorers as she finished 13th with a time of 2:17.19 to give the team four points. She teamed up with Hannah Hartlage, Giulia Cury and Sydney Fleming to earn two more points with a 16th-place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay.
 
Concordia wraps up the competition tomorrow with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and finals kicking off at 5:30 p.m.
