SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Concordia-St. Paul soccer (8-6-4, 6-4-4 NSIC) concluded the regular season with a 0-0 draw against the Sioux Falls Cougars (3-11-3, 3-8-3 NSIC) at Bob Young Field on Thursday night.
The #7 seed Golden Bears will return to action on Monday against the #2 seed Minnesota State Mavericks at 1 p.m. at "The Pitch" in Mankato for the semifinals of the NSIC Tournament. For more information and updates on the NSIC Tournament, follow along at

Concordia and Sioux Falls battled to a 0-0 draw for the second consecutive season and the third time in 13 meetings between the two clubs. CSP controlled the offensive side of the pitch with 22 shots (11 shots on goal), while the Cougars were only able to manage five shots (one shot on goal) in the match. In addition, the Golden Bears forced three corner kicks in the second half, with the latter coming in the final minute.
Senior
Katie Anderson led all players with a game-high five shots (two shots on goal) during her 78-minute stint on the pitch.
Corynn Grabau also performed well with four shots and a game-best three shots on goal.
Jessi Jordan (5-6-3) made her 15th start in goal for the Golden Bears. The Rogers, Minnesota native had an easier outing in goal tonight as she finished with one save in her fifth shutout of the season. On the opposite side of the pitch, Caroline Titze held off the CSP offensive attack with 11 saves on the night.
In the first half, the Golden Bears and the Cougars held each other in check as neither team could find the goal in the first 45 minutes of action. Concordia held an offensive advantage, outshooting Sioux Falls 10-4 with four of their attempts on goal.
Katie Anderson led all players with four shots and a pair of shots on goal in the opening half.
Sydney Manthana also shined with two shots and a shot.
On the defense side of the pitch, CSP held USF to only one shot on goal as Jordan collected her first save of the match in the 44th minute. However, on the opposite side of the pitch, Titze was much busier with four saves in the opening half, with the latter coming in the final minute as
Caroline Lauinger narrowly missed with a shot in the lower right corner.
The defensive gridlock carried over into the second half as neither team was able to find the net in the final 45 minutes of the regular season. Bella Abruzzo and
Tori Miller each tabbed a complete 90 minutes in the match, while
Brittany Bordson added an 87-minute performance.
Corynn Grabau was the offensive leader in the second half with four shots and three shots on goal for the Golden Bears. In the final minute of the match, Grabau fired off a shot that was denied by Titze but forced a corner kick as a result. As time was running out in the final seconds, Manthana attempted the final chance that was corralled by USF as the two clubs concluded the match with a 0-0 draw.
