LAST TIME OUT: CSP 23, UIU 2 (SCORING CHANGES)
Concordia's last time out, a 23-2 win at Upper Iowa on Saturday evening in the first ever-meeting between the program's, includes a number of scoring changes. The result impacted previously published school records set by fourth-year sophomore Molly Moynihan, who was announced as setting the single game records for assists (7) and points (11) as well as the single season record for assists (26). The scoring changes resulted in Moynihan producing a 9-point performance on three goals and six assists - still a monster performance that includes two school records: single game assists (6) and single season assists (25) while her nine points is third in school history, just one shy of Alina Boyce (2019) and Maddie Hentges' (2018) co-record of 10.

The game featured four different players putting forth 4-point efforts: Maddy Seifert (3g, 1a), Hailey Hartlage (3g, 1a), Delaney Davidson (1g, 3a) and Taylor Preece (2g, 2a). In all, 13 Golden Bears scored including five first career goals (Paige Nicklaus 2, Alexcia Zeller, Anna Fisher, Meghan McGowan, Lily Waleseck) while eight different players registered assists and 14 different players secured at least one point in the win.

SERIES HISTORY: CSP 5, DAVENPORT 3
The Golden Bears hold a 5-3 all-time lead in the series heading into the ninth meeting between the programs, but the Panthers have won three in a row. Concordia is 2-2 against Davenport in home games, dropping a pair last year when the GLIAC scheduled teams to play twice in a weekend while navigating the spread of COVID-19. Prior to that, CSP picked up home wins against Davenport in 2019 in the regular season and in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals as CSP won the first five meetings between the teams.

In the last meeting, CSP dropped a close one in Grand Rapids on March 27, falling 12-10 to the 23rd-ranked Panthers despite carrying leads at the end of the first, second and third quarters. Davenport enters this weekend's game unranked, but both teams are still receiving votes in the IWLCA Division II Top-25.

SERIES HISTORY: GVSU 7, CSP 0
The Golden Bears played the Lakers to the closest margin in series history in their last meeting on March 25 in Allendale, Michigan but still fell 17-5 to the 10th-ranked Lakers. The five goals against GVSU ties for the most goals scored for CSP in the series, while the 17 goals allowed also ties for the fewest allowed. CSP is 0-2 at home against GVSU, falling in 2018 and 2019.

Grand Valley State enters the weekend as the 11th-ranked team in the country while CSP has returned to the receiving votes column of the IWLCA Top-25.

TOUGH BEARS, TOUGHER SCHEDULE
The Golden Bears have been strong in the face of adversity in 2022, navigating through injury and the second-ranked schedule in the country in head coach Alison Jennings' first year with the program. Concordia's opponents have compiled a .720 cumulative record to date (85-33), trailing only Adelphi from the Northeast 10 Conference at .723 (47-18). CSP's outlook doesn't get easier, with a .692 (27-18) future opposition the rest of the season for a combined .713 (112-45) through games played as of April 4. The cumulative strength of schedule including past and future opponents puts CSP at a .713 (118-41) strength of schedule, trailing only Saint Leo at .744 (119-41) and Tampa at .742 (118-41).

The result of CSP's schedule has been a 5-8 overall record, with the team playing to competitive results including second half/fourth quarter leads in multiple games against teams with strong records as the team continues to receive national consideration by the IWLCA Top-25 poll in the receiving votes section.

TEAM NOTES
The Golden Bears lead the GLIAC and rank 16th in the country with 11.62 caused turnovers per game and lead the GLIAC and rank 28th in the nation with 20.46 ground balls per game. The Golden Bears have reached double-digit caused turnovers seven times with a high mark of 16 five times and have topped 20 or more ground balls in a game seven times with a season-high of 31 on Saturday at Upper Iowa.

Concordia is winning the turnover margin (-10), caused turnover margin (+36) and ground ball margin (+31) on the season and despite a 5-8 record, the Golden Bears are only -2 in the season-long goal differential (158-160) while holding a +2 assist margin (65-63).

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS IN THE GLIAC (DII) EARLY SEASON RANKING RECOGNITION & TOP-25 NOTES
The Golden Bears have received consideration in national polls for three straight years, being one of the programs "receiving votes" in four straight polls this season and five times overall including the most recent poll on April 6. The program's ability to stay in consideration is a nod to the strength of schedule CSP has faced (2nd in NCAA DII) and their competitiveness in those games against topflight squads (see next section for a breakdown).

The Golden Bears were also featured in the "also considered" section of the Nike/US Lacrosse Top-20 Division II rankings for four consecutive weeks from February 14 to March 7.

CSP had been featured in both polls the previous two years, and has seven games on the current schedule against IWLCA Top-25 programs, giving the team a chance to score some nationally-ranked victories throughout the season. So far, CSP is 0-6 against ranked teams in 2022 with one remaining, a home rematch with #11 Grand Valley State on April 10.

The Golden Bears are 1-24 all-time against nationally-ranked opponents, scoring their first win over a ranked team on February 21, 2020 at home against #14 Colorado Mesa (15-4). They've been within five goals in the final margin five times including twice this year. CSP has dropped its last 10 against ranked opponents.
