LAST TIME OUT: CSP STAYS HOT WITH WIN AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN
The Golden Bears picked up a key 13-10 road win at Northern Michigan last week and have won three of their last four games down the stretch of a strong 2022 season.

With the win, the GLIAC standings are muddy heading into the final weekend of play, with CSP currently in fourth at 3-4 with one game to play, while Northern Michigan is 3-3 with two games against second place Davenport (4-3) and GLIAC leading Grand Valley State (7-0).

The final standings are likely to be close, including the potential for a three-way tie for second place among Davenport, Northern Michigan and Concordia if NMU and CSP each win their games. A Davenport win at home over NMU on Friday afternoon would secure the second seed in the GLIAC Tournament for the Panthers, while NMU needs two wins over DU and GVSU to finish second outright. CSP needs a win over UIU and Northern Michigan to defeat Davenport to finish in a three-team tie for second.

In last week's game at NMU, CSP goalie Candace McDole put on a GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week performance with a season-high 14 saves, her sixth 10-plus save game and her sixth .500-plus save percentage effort while facing 35 shots from the Wildcats attack.

The Golden Bear offense was balanced, with Maddy Seifert leading the team with five points on three goals and two assists. She was one of three players to score a hat trick, joined by seniors Katie Moynihan and Delaney Davidson.

Seifert wasn't the only goals-assist combo player, either, as fourth-year sophomore Molly Moynihan registered four points on two goals and two assists with fourth-year junior Erica Peterson and sophomore Hailey Hartlage each adding a goal and an assist.

EARLY SEASON RANKING RECOGNITION & TOP-25 NOTES
The Golden Bears have received consideration in national polls for three straight years, being one of the programs "receiving votes" six times this year by the IWLCA Top-25 and four times by the Nike/US Lacrosse Top-20.

CSP had been featured in both polls the previous two years, and has played seven games against IWLCA Top-25 programs. So far, CSP is 0-7 against ranked teams in 2022 with the postseason remaining.

The Golden Bears are 1-25 all-time against nationally-ranked opponents, scoring their first win over a ranked team on February 21, 2020 at home against #14 Colorado Mesa (15-4). They've been within five goals in the final margin five times including twice this year. CSP has dropped its last 12 against ranked opponents.

SENIOR DAY
The Golden Bears will honor their class of six graduating seniors this Friday evening, with two of them (Molly Moynihan & Erica Peterson) each carrying additional athletic eligibility beyond this season, should they decide to continue playing. Below is a look at the group of seniors:

#4 Katie Moynihan – Part of the inaugural recruiting class to CSP lacrosse for the 2017 season, has played in a school record 68 games in a career that has spanned six seasons, included a medical redshirt and a COVID waiver season in 2020. She's fourth in school history with 60 career goals and fifth with 71 career points. Her senior year features a new career-high with 14 goals and is three points shy of her 2018 best of 17 points in a season. She's produced at least 13 points in five straight years including the COVID-shortened 2020 season when she scored 13 points in seven games. She also has a career-best 17 ground balls and tied her season-high of eight caused turnovers this year.

#5 Molly Moynihan – The fourth-year member of the program has racked up nearly three points per game across her career with 90 points in 32 games including setting the single-season record in assists with 30 as a senior. Despite playing 32 career games, she's currently third in program history with 43 career assists, fourth with 90 points and fifth with 47 goals. Her 55 points this season marks her career high and the fourth most in a season by a Golden Bear.

#20 Erica Peterson – A fifth-year member of the program, Erica Peterson has played in 49 games in a career that includes a medical redshirt and a COVID-waiver season while compiling 50 career points along the way on 22 goals and 28 assists. She has career-highs in assists (12) and points (17) in 2022 while sitting two ground balls (12) shy of her career-best and one caused turnover (3) from her single-season high, both set last season in 2021.

#21 Mary Keating – Initially a two-sport athlete recruited to play soccer and lacrosse, Keating has been a force across the full length of the field for the Golden Bears, scoring 54 points on 38 goals and 16 assists in 49 career games. She's fourth on the career charts in both ground balls and draw controls with 77 apiece, setting new career highs as a fourth year senior in goals (12), ground balls (31), draw controls (44) and caused turnovers (14). Her 44 draw controls this season is the fourth-most in program history, and she's put up 11-plus points each of her four years.

#22 Delaney Davidson – A senior transfer, Davidson has excelled at the Division I level at Iona as a freshman before a standout performance at Division II regional power Indianapolis as a sophomore and junior in 2018 and 2019. She's made a big impact in her lone season at CSP, as her 44 goals as third-most in a season in team history and her 54 points are fifth-most. Her 2.75 goals per game tops all players for a career average, as well. She's also chipped in with 18 ground balls, 18 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers.

Throughout her career as a college lacrosse player, Davidson has played in 48 games with 121 goals, 22 assists and 143 points.

#25 Sarah Pierson – A transfer from St. Leo University in Florida, Pierson has been a difference maker in her three years with CSP, setting the career (134) and game (14) records for draw controls, while her 66 draw controls in 2021 are second-most in a season in school history, achieved in just 10 games at a record 6.60 per game pace. She has had her best offensive season at CSP in 2022, too, adding 20 points and six assists, both CSP-highs in her career, while chipping in 14 goals. She's also had new highs in groundballs (18) and caused turnovers (12) while providing a steady presence on the draw with 28 draw controls. She's compiled 49 career points at CSP on 41 goals and eight assists in 33 games.

Including her 32 games at St. Leo, she's combined for 263 career draw controls, 64 goals, 10 assists and 74 points in 65 games at the Division II level.
