ST. PAUL, Minn. – Facing one of the more challenging schedules in the early part of the conference schedule, Concordia-St. Paul (23-8-1, 6-6 NSIC) will head to second place Winona State (22-10, 8-2 NSIC) on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on the road.
The weather forecast has appeared bumpy for Tuesday, but has improved. Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 50s in the early and late afternoon with a 20-to-60 percent chance of rain with winds ranging from 15-to-20 miles per hour.
STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
The Golden Bears continue to check the teams at the top of the league off their schedule, adding second place Winona State this week. So far, Concordia has played first place Augustana (1-1), third place St. Cloud State (2-0), and were swept by the fourth-place tie of Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth.
Among the rest of the opponents CSP has faced are Sioux Falls in 10
th (5-6) and 13
th place Wayne State (3-9).
Overall, CSP's NSIC schedule has a 43-28 record, adding another 8-2 opponent into the mix, with Concordia producing a 6-6 record against the tough slate.
SERIES HISTORY: Winona State 34, Concordia 13
The Warriors have controlled the all-time series, entering its 48
th and 49
th meetings this week. Concordia holds a 3-17 record on the road at Winona State and a 7-30 record in Northern Sun league play. The Warriors have currently won 14 in a row in the series with CSP's last win played in the NSIC Tournament in 2010 in Sioux Falls. Concordia has lost its last 11 games on the road to Winona State, as well, last topping the Warriors on their home field in game one of a 2008 doubleheader.

Amanda Parsons was a tough out, connecting for hits in 12 of 29 at bats while hitting .632/.650/1.000. She had five doubles and a triple as half of her hits went for extra bases while leading the team with five runs scored as the team went 3-3 in NSIC play. She only struck out one time, and is now second in the league with 12 doubles, fourth in hitting (.457) and seventh in OPS (1.193). She's now stroked 39 doubles in her career, ranking sixth in school history.
