The program's 7-1 start is the best since the 2018 season that went on to finish 30-24, the seventh out of eight 30-plus win seasons in head coach Bob Bartel's 17 previous seasons.

Through the early portion of the 50-plus game season, Concordia leads the NSIC and ranks 15th in the nation with a 1.78 team earned run average which has a defense behind it that leads the league and ranks 12th in the country with 0.5 double plays turned per game.

Right hander Bryanna Olson leads the pitching staff with a 5-1 record with a save, appearing in seven of the team's eight games including five starts. She's produced a 0.92 ERA, a pair of shutouts and a 1-hitter, striking out 40 in 38.0 innings while allowing only two extra base hits and zero home runs against in 143 opposing at bats and a .217 average against.

Offensively, CSP is paced by catcher Amanda Parson with an early season .478 average, .571 obp and .696 slugging percentage, slugging a pair of doubles, a home run and six RBIs. Grace Beseman, who holds down third base defensively, is hitting .440/.500/.680 with club-highs of two home runs, five stolen bases and seven runs scored. Leadoff hitter and center fielder Clara Heislen is also among the team leaders with a .333/.419/.519 offensive line, six runs, two doubles, a homer, six RBIs and a pair of steals.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE OPPOSITION:
The Golden Bears have played seven of the 10 opponents in Florida in the past, holding a winning record against five and winning the most recent contest against six of the teams. Of note, while CSP is 0-3 against Wayne State (Mich.), two of the three games against the Warriors were against a nationally-ranked Wayne State squad and all three games in the series were decided by two runs or less.
