BURNSVILLE, Minn.- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2022 Women's NSIC Indoor Preseason Coaches' Polls and Concordia-St. Paul was picked to finish eighth as
Arika Harbo and
Cece Lewis were named CSP Athletes to Watch.
The Golden Bears earned 99 points in the poll, trailing Minnesota State (196), Augustana (182), Mary (162), Winona State (154), Minnesota-Duluth (148), Sioux Falls (122) and Northern State (108). Just behind the Golden Bears are Wayne State (87) and St. Cloud State (76).
CSP will look to build off a seventh-place finish at the 2022 NSIC Indoor Championships and attempt to knock off the Minnesota State Mavericks, who look to repeat as conference champions.
After a historic 2022 campaign,
Arika Harbo returns for her senior season for the Golden Bears. The senior claimed the NCAA Division II National Championship in the high jump last season, which made her the first national champion in program history. During her record-setting indoor season, Harbo also snagged a pair of NSIC titles, winning the pentathlon and setting the NSIC record in the high jump.
Joining Harbo as the other Golden Bear added to the athletes to watch list is
Cece Lewis. The senior collected seven top-10 finishes a season ago, including a first-place finish in the 200m at the Gene Glader Classic and a seventh-place finish in the 4x400 relay at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
The Golden Bears are set to kick off the 2022-23 indoor season this week as they travel to the Liberty Kickoff in Lynchburg, Va., and the Chuck Peterson Open in Mankato, Minn.
