On Friday night, the Golden Bears fell on the road to the Winona State Warriors 2-1.

The Warriors shot out of a cannon to begin the match, as an assist from Ellie Wardell inside the box set up Grace Seim for the first goal of the match inside of a minute.

The Golden Bears responded with a goal of their own in the eighth minute after Leah Engh was able to notch her first goal of the season off a corner kick assist from Sophie Pawlyshyn.

Katie Anderson attempted to spark the Golden Bear offensive attack early in the second half with four shots (two on goal) in the first 10 minutes of the half but was not able to sneak a shot past the Warriors' keeper.

Winona State would regain the lead after Sarah Strating was able to find the goal in the 68th minute.

Tori Miller added her first shot of the season three minutes later, but it would be collected by the Warriors' keeper near the top of the goal.

CSP would bounce back on Sunday afternoon with a 5-1 victory over the Upper Iowa Peacocks.

The Golden Bears struggled on the offensive side of the ball with only five shots in the first half. K. Anderson and Pawlyshyn were the only Golden Bears to have shots on goal.

The Peacocks were able to strike first with a goal in the ninth minute by Nora Nouhaili with an assist from Alex Garcia, giving the Peacocks the 1-0 advantage heading into the break.

Her first goal occurred in the 55th minute with an assist coming from Abby Kloiber. The second goal gave CSP the lead in the 59th minute with the assist coming from Pawlyshyn.

The Golden Bears nearly netted their third goal of the match a couple of minutes after their second goal, but a goal from K. Anderson was taken off the board following a long debate by the officials that led to an offsides call.

Freshman Belle Abruzzo added her first career goal in the 79th minute of the match, as she was able to sneak the ball through heavy traffic in the goalie box.

Corynn Grabau netted the fourth goal for the Golden Bears in the 82nd minute off an assist from Brittany Bordson.

K. Anderson recorded the final goal of the match in the 88th minute off Bordson's second assist of the match, and the Golden Bears would go on to win the game by a final score of 5-1.
