ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer team (1-0-2) will open up NSIC play this weekend, facing the Wolves of Northern State on Friday before taking on the Jimmies of Jamestown on Sunday. 
 
The Navy and Gold will host two games at Sea Foam Stadium this weekend, first against Northern State (1-1) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11, followed by Jamestown (0-2-1) at 1 p.m. on Sept. 13. 
 
PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE ONLINE 
Fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets online at cspbears.com/tickets prior to game day. All ticketed events for the 26-27 academic year will utilize the Vivenue online ticket platform found at that link and fans must scan a mobile ticket to enter. Tickets will still be sold on site on game day but purchases are card-only and include additional fees. The best way for fans to make their game day entry as smooth as possible is to purchase tickets online in advance. CSP Students, Faculty and Staff will be able to download their free passes through Vivenue.  
 
WATCH ONLINE - MIDCO SPORTS PLUS
Starting with the 2026-27 season, Concordia and the NSIC will call Midco Sports Plus the streaming home for the NSIC Network. Midco Sports Plus, a regional cable provider primarily based in North Dakota, South Dakota, and parts of Minnesota, features an expanded variety of online sports coverage.
 
The NSIC Network will be part of a subscription service with annual access plans starting at under $7 per month for the full year ($79/year) or a monthly service for $15, which includes NSIC coverage as well as Summit League coverage.
 
Concordia's home broadcasts will continue to feature multiple cameras with instant replay, along with commentary from St. Paul-native Dan Flanagan, a graduate of Fordham University (N.Y.), where he covered multiple NCAA Division I sports teams on campus for the Rams, including football and basketball in the Patriot League. Flanagan has been the broadcast voice of the Golden Bears for nearly 20 years and called multiple national, regional, and conference championships.

RECAP OF THE WEEK
The Golden Bears wrapped up their nonconference slate on the road with a 0-0 draw against Parkside and 4-0 win over Roosevelt. 
 
Sunday's match marked Concordia's first matchup against Roosevelt in program history, with the Golden Bears taking a 1-0 lead in the all-time series. 
 
Game One: CSP 0, Parkside 0
The Golden Bears moved to 2-6-2 all-time against the Rangers following their 0-0 draw against Parkside. 
 
Sydney Potter highlighted the Golden Bears' defensive effort in net, recording six saves on 12 shots to keep CSP level.  
 
In a physical first half, the Golden Bears matched the Rangers with three shots and one shot on goal each. Both teams also recorded one corner kick. 
 
Neither team was able to find the back of the net, sending the game into halftime tied 0-0. 
 
CSP opened the second half looking to find the first goal of the game, but Potter continued to keep the Golden Bears in the match, making five saves while facing nine shots in the second half. Parkside controlled much of the half, but CSP's defense held firm to keep the Rangers off the scoreboard. 
 
Both teams' defenses stood strong throughout the second half, stopping everything that came their way to end the game in a 0-0 draw. 
 
Senior goalkeeper Sydney Potter recorded six saves on the day, marking the eighth time in her career she has recorded five or more saves in a match 
 
Leading the defense for the Golden Bears was Maddison Balashaitis, who played a 90-minute outing for CSP.
 
Anchoring the midfield was Sophia Haase, who played 83 minutes and recorded CSP's lone shot on goal. 
 
Hannah Carroll and Lexi Pettit led the Golden Bears with two shots each, while Sophia Haase and Milla Klostermann each recorded one shot. 
 
Freshmen Jeanette Bermudez and Lauren Burk made their Golden Bears debuts, with Bermudez playing 14 minutes and Burk playing three minutes.  
 
Game Two: CSP 4, Roosevelt 0
The matchup marked the first meeting in program history between the Golden Bears and the Lakers. 

Sophia Haase highlighted the day for the Navy and Gold, scoring her second collegiate hat trick. The three goals marked her first goals of the season. She also tallied a season-high nine shots, with four coming on goal.

She recorded the 11th hat trick in CSP history, while her six points against Roosevelt rank third in program history for a single-game performance.

CSP dominated the game in all phases and categories, tallying 23 shots along with a 7-2 corner kick advantage. 

In the first half, Concordia got the scoring started and never looked back. Sophia Haase put the Golden Bears on the board in the fifth minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from Sienna Latta. Haase added to the lead in the 16th minute before completing her hat trick just three minutes later, this time off another assist from Latta. 

CSP continued its dominance in the second half, looking to close out nonconference play on a high note. The Golden Bears kept the pressure on Roosevelt, forcing the Lakers into an own goal in the 69th minute to extend the lead to 4-0. 

The Golden Bears continued to control the match in the second half, keeping Roosevelt off the scoreboard to secure the 4-0 victory.  

Sienna Latta notched a career-high two assists in today's match, surpassing her season total of one assist from last season. 

Senior goalkeeper Sydney Potter recorded five saves on the day, earning her 21st career shutout. 

Six different Golden Bears recorded two or more shots in the match, led by Sophia Haase with nine, while Hannah Carroll, Ashley Bennett, Zoey Fuglsang, Lexi Pettit and Brooke Nelson each recorded two. 

Five freshmen made their Golden Bears debuts: Samantha Wacker, Sadie Mittelstaedt, Taylor Hendrickson, Mataya Smith and Zoey Fuglsang.  

SEASON LEADERS
Haase leads the NSIC and the Golden Bears with three goals this season, while Sienna Latta leads the conference and the Golden Bears with two assists. 
 
Haase leads the team with 10 shots and five shots on goal, ranking fourth in the NSIC in bot categories. 
 
Maddison Balashaitis, Brooke Nelson, Ashley Bennett, Haase and Lexi Pettit have each played at least 200 minutes this season, with Balashaitis leading the team with all 270 minutes played. 
 
Potter leads the Golden Bears with three 90-minute starts and leads the NSIC with a 0.33 goals-against average. She ranks second in save percentage at .923, sixth in saves with 12 and first in shutouts with two. 
 
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND NORTHERN STATE
The two programs have met a total of 30 times with the Wolves holding a 7-20-3 all-time advantage. CSP is 4-4-2 in the last 10 matchups against Northern State.
 
Last season, Concordia-St. Paul defeated the Wolves 2-1. Returner Lexi Pettit scored the game-winning goal assisted by Ashley Bennett, while Izzy Sipe recorded an assist on the Golden Bears' first goal. 
 
ABOUT THE WOLVES
Northern State posted a 6-9-4 (6-5-4 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing seventh in the NSIC.
 
The Wolves were picked seventh in the NSIC preseason poll, receiving 142 points. The selection marks the second consecutive year Northern State has been picked seventh in the preseason poll. 
 
Northern State enters the matchup with a 1-1 (0-0 NSIC) record after defeating Northwest Missouri State 1-0 and falling to Missouri Western 3-2. 
 
Ella Johnson, Chloe Voss and Lauren Youngquist each lead the Wolves' offensive attack with one goal this season. 
 
Northern State returns a pair of key offensive contributors in Chloe Voss and Jaylee Hofer. Voss led the Wolves in shots and goals in 2025, while Hofer led the team in assists and points. Lauren Youngquist also returns for her senior season after logging more than 1,600 minutes last season and earning NSIC All-Conference Second Team honors alongside Voss. 
 
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND JAMESTOWN
CSP enters the matchup 3-1 all-time against the Jimmies, winning the last three matchups.
 
Last season, Concordia-St. Paul defeated Jamestown 3-1 in the teams' first season together in the NSIC. Returners Brooke Nelson and Sophia Haase each scored a goal in last year's matchup, with Haase's goal assisted by Lexi Pettit. 
 
ABOUT THE JIMMIES
Jamestown posted a 2-13-2 (2-11-2 NSIC) record in 2025, finishing thirteenth in the conference.
 
The Jimmies were picked fourteenth in the NSIC preseason poll, receiving 42 points. 
 
Jamestown enters the matchup with a 0-2-1 (0-0 NSIC) record after drawing with Roosevelt and dropping games to Davenport, 4-0, and Minot State, 1-0. 
 
Bre Oettle has scored the lone goal for the Jimmies this season while leading the team with seven shots and four shots on goal. 
 
Senior Midfielder Vega Canada was selected as the Jamestown offensive player to watch. Canada appeared in all 17 games this past season and was the leading scorer for the Jimmies with three goals. During her three seasons at Jamestown, the Pamplona, Spain native has amassed 25 points on 10 goals and five assists. 
 
Junior Kyah Gabel was named the defensive player to watch for Jamestown. Gabel started in all 17 contests for the Jimmies in 2025 as she heads into her third season with the team.
