ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Golden Bear softball team (17-13, 11-5 NSIC) has moved their originally scheduled game with #21 Winona State (23-6, 12-4 NSIC) from Wednesday to Thursday. Due to forecasted temperatures, the doubleheader will be played on Thursday April 22
nd at 2 P.M. and 4 P.M. at Carlander Field.
CSP will then hit the road and head north to take on Minnesota Crookston (7-23, 3-13 NSIC) on Saturday, April 24
th and Bemidji State (9-21, 5-11 NSIC) on Sunday, April 25
th. The first game against both the Golden Eagles and the Beavers is scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
CSP FAN POLICY
In accordance with MDH guidance, Concordia will be hosting spectators via home and visitor pass lists, submitted by each team. Family and friends must be pre-registered via player pass lists in order to attend.
We ask that fans use the main entrance to Barnes Field only, located in center field of Barnes Field on the south side of the Gangelhoff Center, near Lot C. A designated check-in table will be provided. It is recommended that fans bring their own chair, as seating will be limited to the outfield area.

LAST TIME OUT
Concordia played six games against top NSIC opponents over this past weekend. CSP took on #18 Minnesota State (22-7, 11-5 NSIC), Minnesota Duluth (20-10, 10-6 NSIC), and St. Cloud State (17-9, 6-6 NSIC).

The Golden Bears first took on the nationally ranked Mavericks at home. Minnesota State was able to sweep the Golden Bears during an impressive pitching performance by Mackenzie Ward in game one, she allowed only two hits and struck out 17 batters. In game two the Mavericks had timely two-out hitting to secure the sweep over the Golden Bears.

CSP looked to bounce back against Minnesota Duluth as they welcomed the Bulldogs for a doubleheader at home.
Grace Beseman powered the Golden Bear offense in game one with a three-run home run in the first inning and
Kali Kaestner pitched a complete game shutout victory while striking out 10 Bulldog batters. In game two it was a back-and-forth game with an exciting finish. CSP had to rally back in the bottom of the seventh inning, after they dramatically tied the game with a two-run home run by
Amanda Parsons and it was capped off by a walk off single by
Meagan Bliese to secure the doubleheader sweep.

The Golden Bears hosted the Huskies to round out the weekend home stand. It was an even matchup as both teams went toe-to-toe in both games. It was a team effort in game one as

WINONA STATE SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and the Warriors will be meeting for the 48

th time in their series history. Winona State currently holds a 33-14 record over the Golden Bears. They first played each other back in 2000 and CSP went 2-3 against Winona State in their first five matchups. Concordia went through a stretch where they went 6-1 against the Warriors from 2004-2005. Winona State is currently on a 12-game winning streak against the Golden Bears.

Game one was a tight one, with Winona State managing to score in the bottom of the seventh to pull off the 1-0 victory. Both the Bears and the Warriors had three hits in the game, but WSU came up with two important singles when it counted.
GAME 2: WINONA STATE 11, CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL 3 (5 INNINGS)
Game two of the doubleheader featured more active offenses for both teams with the Warriors holding a 7-5 edge in hits over the Golden Bears. CSP had a 3-1 lead in the contest heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, but WSU took over that lead for good with 10 runs in the inning, eventually ending the game in five innings.
ABOUT THE WARRIORS
Winona State is 23-6 overall and 12-4 in conference play. The Warriors have swept Upper Iowa, Minnesota State Moorhead, they have split with Northern State (S.D.), swept by Minnesota State, split with Sioux Falls (S.D), swept Southwest Minnesota State, Bemidji State, and Minnesota Crookston. They will play St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth over the weekend after their doubleheader with CSP on Thursday.
As a team, the Warriors are hitting .340 with a total of 31 home runs, slugging percentage of .541 and an on-base percentage of .417. They have stolen a total of 16 bases and have scored 206 runs. They are led by freshman Abbie Hlas who is hitting .425 with a slugging percentage of .781 and an on-base percentage of .462. Sophomore Libby Neveau is leading the team with seven home runs and 33 RBI's.
Senior pitcher Jordyn Kleman leads the Winona staff with a 1.57 ERA, a 14-3 record, started in 15 games and appeared in 20 games. Has pitched 12 complete games and has recorded two saves, has struck out 125 batters in 93.2 innings and is holding batters to a .200 batting average.

The first game went back-and-forth before Concordia added two runs in the sixth that would prove to be the difference in the Bears' 7-5 win. Each team had 11 hits in the game, but CSP also took advantage of two UMC errors as well as three walks.
GAME 2: CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL 14, MINNESOTA CROOKSTON 4 (5 INNINGS)
The Golden Bears came out ready to play in game two, taking a quick 6-0 lead and did not look back from there, going on to win 14-4 in five innings. This was the team's second run-rule victory of the weekend and their fifth of the season.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Minnesota Crookston is currently 7-23 on the season and is 3-13 in NSIC play. They have split with Bemidji State, and have been swept by Sioux Falls (S.D.), SMSU, Minnesota Duluth, they split with MSU Moorhead, were swept by Northern State (S.D.), split with Upper Iowa, and were swept by Winona State. They will play St. Cloud State on Thursday before hosting the Golden Bears Saturday.
As a team the Golden Eagles are hitting .220 with a total of 13 home runs. They have a combined .334 slugging percentage, a .299 on-base percentage, a total of 30 stolen bases and 92 runs scored. They are led by sophomore Dana Zarn who is hitting .341, two home runs and 11 RBI's, a .455 slugging percentage and a .433 on-base percentage.

The Golden Bear lineup combined for 16 hits in game one leading to the team's fourth run-rule win of the season, defeating Bemidji State by a score of 13-5 in six innings. CSP's first four hitters had an especially productive game, tallying 11 of the Bears' hits while also driving in nine runs.
GAME 2: CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL 11, BEMIDJI STATE 10 (12 INNINGS)
In contrast to game one, the second game of the doubleheader needed extra innings to finish, as the Bears pulled off an 11-10 win in the 12
th inning. After a fair amount of back-and-forth offense, the game was tied at 10 runs apiece after seven. The next four and a half innings were scoreless until CSP finally found a way to get a run across to earn the sweep.

Bemidji State is currently 9-21 on the season and is 5-11 in NSIC play. Kris McIntyre is hitting .318, two home runs and 11 RBI's, .409 slugging, .361 on-base percentage and 23 runs scored.
Amanda Parsons is hitting .310, leads the team with seven doubles and one triple. She has four home runs and 17 RBI's, she is slugging .552 with a .355 on-base percentage and a .995 fielding percentage.
Aryka Knoche is hitting .279, three home runs and 17 RBI's, .419 slugging and a .295 on-base percentage.
