LAST TIME OUT
Last week, Concordia picked up a doubleheader sweep over Bemidji State at home before dropping three games at Augustana over the weekend.

The Concordia offense had a big week as they slashed .311/.352/.512 as a team over the five games with nine doubles and eight home runs during that stretch.

Jarod Wandersee was especially impressive as he went 10-16 (.625) with homers in three straight games as he reached base at a .684 clip and slugged 1.250. He added six runs scored and five runs batted in on the week. Nick Thimsen and Matt Pietsch followed close behind as Thimsen went 10-21 (.476) with three doubles, a homer and a .762 slugging percentage while Pietsch went 9-20 (.450) with a two homers, seven RBIs and an .800 slugging percentage.

UIU SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears and Peacocks will be meeting for the 32nd and 33rd times in the all-time series as CSP currently holds a record of 20-11 in the 31 previous meetings. The two schools have met just once since 2014 with the lone series coming in a doubleheader at Veterans Field in 2019. After Upper Iowa picked up six wins in the first 10 meetings, Concordia has rattled off 16 wins in the past 21 contests, including 10 of the last 11. CSP is 10-5 in 15 contests played in Fayette.

LAST MEETING WITH THE PEACOCKS
Back on April 16, 2019, the Golden Bears scored twice in the ninth to claim 3-2 walk-off win in game two to pick up a split on the day with Upper Iowa after the Peacocks took game one 11-0 at Veterans Field.

In what was a pitcher's duel for much of the contest, runs for both teams in the ninth set up a dramatic finish as the Golden Bears claimed game two in walk-off fashion.

Cole Kirchoff and Tom Austin played the role of heroes as Kirchoff tripled home pinch-runner Shea Pekarek before Austin drove in Kirchoff with a sac fly to win it. The duo finished with two of the four hits for the team as Ben Suits led off the inning with a single and Roch Whittaker added a single in the third as well. Jarod Wandersee drove in the other run for the team with a sac fly as well.

While the offense came alive to give the Golden Bears the victory in the ninth, it was the pitching that kept Concordia in it throughout the contest. Josh Gaworski was stellar in a no decision as he struck out four and scattered six hits while allowing just an unearned run in 7.0 innings. Blake Stelzer followed with 2.0 solid innings out of the bullpen as he held the Peacocks to an unearned run on one hit with a pair of strikeouts for the win.
