ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Golden Bears Esports League of Legends team (1-2) fell to West Virginia in the third and final round of the round robin side of the Spring 2021 League of Legends Tournament.

The Golden Bears will move to the consolation bracket next against an opponent that is yet to be determined. Keep checking back to the Esports schedule to get information on dates and times for the next League of Legends match.

Game One
CSP drafted an all-in composition with heavy pressure on the midlane Viktor and toplane Malphite engage. However, WVU was able to counter jungle their way to victory with a strong Volibear and Mordekaiser duo. The Golden Bears botlane suffered in game one, having gone down early to a high pressure botlane from West Virginia's Siver and Alistar.

Game Two
CSP was able to turn things around in game two, finding success early in lanes with Josiah Skorseth on Sylas and a switch in bot lane with Christopher Koch moving to the carry position as Bee Lor switched to support. The Bears were able to find an early 6-1 advantage before getting picked in multiple midgame team fights by West Virginia's Seraphine, freezing CSP in place and allowing the top lane and botlane of WVU to clean up every fight after 15 minutes.
