ALLENDALE, Mich. - Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse (3-4, 2-3 GLIAC) dropped its third straight game in the state of Michigan, falling at #9 Grand Valley State (4-1, 1-0 GLIAC) 21-2 on a cold spring Thursday night.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 10 a.m. central daylight savings time at GVSU Lacrosse Stadium.

Senior Katie Moynihan scored a pair of goals to lead the Golden Bears, the first coming in the fifth minute on a feed from senior Lex Seifert to trim the GVSU early lead to 3-1.

But the host Lakers would score the next 13 goals of the half to take a 16-1 lead into the break. Moynihan scored again in the final minute of play with 15 seconds to go to snap GVSU's 18-0 scoring run.

Moynihan is now tied for the team lead with 10 goals on the season, joining senior Sarah Pierson who was once again strong in the middle with a game-high seven draw controls.

Junior Mary Keating contributed one each of a draw control, ground ball and caused turnover. Hailey Hartlage and Valerie Bragg each added a pair of ground balls with Hartlage also producing a pair of caused turnovers while Molly Moynihan had a pair of draw controls.

Freshman Maddy Huebner took the loss in goal in her toughest challenge as a first year goalie, making three saves and collecting a team-high four ground balls.

CSP was outshot 32-9 in the contest, but faced a slimmer 9-8 shot margin in the second half. CSP and GVSU also played to an even 8-8 in second half ground balls and 6-6 in second half turnovers.

The Lakers were led by Maddy Champagne's six goals and one assist while Sophie Conroy had three goals and two assists. Payton Neil picked up the win in goal, saving three Golden Bear shots while allowing one goal in nearly 42 minutes.
