ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul Hearthstone team (2-2) was swept by Miami (Ohio) on Thursday night in Tespa action.
CSP Rogue vs MU Druid (MU win)
The Golden Bears found themselves at a disadvantage early as Miami quickly added mana crystals to give themselves more playing power each turn. With a four mana edge, the RedHawks were able to build a big board by turn five and they were able to deliver 21 damage in turn seven to take the victory.
CSP Rogue vs MU Paladin (MU win)
The RedHawks got off to another fast start in game two, delivering seven damage to the Concordia hero by turn three. CSP slowed the tide and battled back to take a slim lead by turn six, but they were unable to maintain the momentum. By turn eight, Miami had 22 health compared to 10 for the Golden Bears and continued to chip away over the next couple turns to force CSP to concede.
CSP Warlock vs MU Mage (MU win)
Concordia switched things up as they turned to their warlock deck in the third game. The RedHawks once again moved at a fairly quick pace as they delivered 11 damage over the first six turns using spell damage. That spell damage continued to come as a big turn eight forced Concordia to concede as Miami claimed the sweep.
Concordia will look to turn things around and get back to their winning ways next week with matches on Monday and Thursday as they continue play in the Tespa Championship.
