ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia Golden Bears Hearthstone team (2-1) took their first loss in the Tespa Hearthstone Collegiate Championship as they fell 3-0 to Virginia (3-0) on Monday night.

GAME ONE: CSP Warrior vs UVa Priest (UVa win)
With both teams opting for slower moving decks, it was fairly even through the first few turns as neither team was able to build much board control. The Cavaliers played Galakrond in turn seven and started to take control from there with reborn minions. The Golden Bears were unable to clear the board quick enough as they were forced to concede on turn 12.

GAME TWO: CSP Warrior vs UVa Paladin (UVa win)
As Concordia turned to their warrior deck for the second straight game, the Cavaliers slowly built an advantage in game two before big turns in the middle portion of the game helped UVa start to pull away. The Golden Bears were unable to find the draws to stem the tide as they were pushed to concede on turn eight, falling behind 2-0 in the match.

GAME THREE: CSP Paladin vs UVa Shaman (UVa win)
After another even start, Virginia put together a massive turn seven to shift the momentum in their favor. The Golden Bears responded with an effective turn seven of their own to clear some big minions, but the damage was done as the Cavaliers were able to finish off the sweep one turn later.

The Golden Bears will look to get back to their winning ways on Thursday in the next round of Tespa Hearthstone action.
