ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse home opener set for this weekend has been rescheduled and relocated. The 24th-ranked Golden Bears will now head to #2 Lindenwood on Tuesday, April 6 for a noon game in St. Charles, Missouri. The game was initially scheduled for this Saturday at noon in the Concordia Dome at Sea Foam Stadium.
The schedule change shifts Concordia's home opener to its GLIAC opener on Friday, March 19 against Ashland at 6 p.m. at the Concordia Dome, playing the Eagles again on Sunday, March 21 at 11 a.m.
The Golden Bears slipped from #22 in the nation to #24 following its opening weekend split, falling at #5 Indianapolis before winning at Lewis on the road. The Greyhounds moved up a notch to #4 in the country after defeating CSP amid a 2-0 start.
Concordia also remained in the Nike / US Lacrosse Division II Top-20 poll, holding the #20 ranking, slipping four spots from #16 in the preseason poll. Lindenwood holds the #1 spot in the Nike poll, followed by UIndy, who moved up from #5 while Grand Valley State is #11, sliding a spot from #10 despite winning its only contest thus far.
When Concordia faces #2 Lindenwood in April, it will be the finale of a 5-game road stretch starting with a pair at Northern Michigan (3/26 & 3/28) followed by a trip back to Michigan to face #11 Grand Valley State twice (4/1 & 4/3) before heading to the St. Louis, Missouri area for the game at #2 Lindenwood (4/6).
