Riley Wheatcraft and Lindsey Becher earn All-NSIC honors

Wheatcraft named All-NSIC South Division First Team and Becher named NSIC South Division Freshman of the Year

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) released the 2020-21 women's basketball All-Conference teams and senior guard Riley Wheatcraft and freshman forward Lindsey Becher both earned selections. Wheatcraft was named All-NSIC South Division First Team for the second year in a row while Becher was named NSIC South Division Freshman of the Year and also earned a spot on the NSIC South Division All-Freshman Team.

Wheatcraft's All-NSIC selection marks the fifth year in a row that the Golden Bears have had an All-Conference First Team selection. In total, CSP has now had 24 selections to the All-NSIC First Team.

Becher is the first Concordia-St. Paul player to be named Freshman of the Year since Anna Schmitt in 2015-16. She is also the first Golden Bear selected to the NSIC All-Freshman Team since the 2015-16 season and the sixth overall to earn the honor.

  • All-NSIC South Division First Team (2019-20, 2020-21)
  • Played in all 16 games and made 14 starts for the Golden Bears
  • Led the team and ranked 17th in the NSIC with 13.6 points per game
  • Grabbed 4.9 rebounds per game, good for 2nd on the team
  • Collected a team-high 24 steals on the season
  • Shot 42.8% from the floor as she connected on 71 of her 166 field goal attempts
  • Ranked 14th in the NSIC with 0.8 blocked shots per game
  • Connected on 32 of her 71 attempts from behind the arc, good for a team-high 45.1%
  • Sits 12th in the NSIC with a free throw percentage of 81.5%
 
#11 Lindsey Becher (F, 6-1, Fr., Shoreview, Minn. / Mounds View HS)
  • NSIC South Division Freshman of the Year (2020-21)
  • NSIC All-Freshman Team (2020-21)
  • Named NSIC South player of the Week in week two
  • Played in all 16 games and made 15 starts for the Golden Bears in her freshman campaign  
  • Ranks 2nd in the NSIC and 6th in the nation with 2.9 blocked shots per game
  • Averaged 11.0 points per game, good for 2nd on the team
  • Scored a career-high 25 points against Wayne State on January 9th
  • Shot a team-high 52.3% from the floor as she connected on 67 of her 128 field goal attempts
  • Added 5.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 assists per game
