IN THE POLLS
Following Concordia's perfect start to the season, the Golden Bears earned national recognition in the latest D2SIDA Women's Basketball Poll. The Golden Bears just missed the top-25 as their 29 points in the poll gave them the third highest total among teams receiving votes. CSP also earned a spot in the D2SIDA Central Region Poll as they moved into fifth, joining Minnesota Duluth (in second) as one of two NSIC schools in the six-team rankings. This marks the first time Concordia has been ranked in the D2SIDA region poll since late in the 2018-19 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Golden Bears traveled to Wayne, Neb. to take on the Wayne State Wildcats for their first conference action of the season. Concordia collected a sweep on the weekend, winning by an average of 21.5 points.

In the first game, the Golden Bears dominated both ends of the court for most of the contest. The CSP defense held the Wildcats to shooting just 33.9% from the floor while the offense shot 53.2% in the 96-60 victory.

CSP got contributions from all over the roster on Friday with 11 different players recording points and three reaching double figures.

Leading the Bears was junior guard Meghan DuBois with a career-high 24 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward Lindsey Becher also continued her hot streak, finishing with her third double-digit performance in as many games with 16 points, four rebounds, and three blocks.

Senior guard Riley Wheatcraft put up another solid performance, ending the game with 14 points on 5-8 shooting from the floor and 3-4 from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard Jadyn Hanson provided a spark off the bench, contributing nine points to go along with three rebounds and two steals.

Saturday's contest was a much closer affair, but the Bears pulled away late to secure a 93-86 victory and complete the sweep.

The Bears shot the ball well in the game, shooting 32-62 from the floor (51.6%). The Golden Bear defense enjoyed another solid outing, holding Wayne State to just 39.7% shooting from the field. Wayne State's Erin Norling got back to her usual self in the game, recording 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Riley Wheatcraft carried much of the load for the Bears, finishing with 26 points on 9-13 shooting from the floor. Becher had the best game of her young career, putting up a career-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Senior guard Danielle Schaub was the only other Bear to finish in double figures, recording 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds.

AUGUSTANA SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Bears have a 13-18 all-time record against the Vikings. The Bears' record in home games against Augie is 8-4. Augustana holds the advantage in recent years as they have won seven of the last 10 against the Bears. Augie won both matchups with CSP last season by an average of nine points.

LAST TIME AGAINST AUGIE
When the teams last met on Feb. 15 last year at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., the Vikings came away with a tight 90-85 victory.

The bank was open for Danielle Schaub as she ended the game just one bucket short of matching the team record for three-point shots made in a game. The junior set a handful of career highs in multiple statistical categories. She scored a career high of 27 points to lead the Golden Bears against the Vikings, with every one of her points coming from the three-point line. Schaub hit nine of 12 from downtown to go 75% from the floor for a new personal record and did not attempt a single shot within the three-point line.

The Golden Bears hit a season-high of 15 three-point shots to be one bucket shy of the all-time single game record for 3FGM. They ended the night on 45.6% shooting from the floor (31-68) and 51.7% from three (15-29), while hitting 8-8 from the stripe in their lowest free-throw attempts of the season.

Riley Wheatcraft and Cassidy Byrd were the Bears' second leading scorers with 13 points each. Wheatcraft hit 3-of-6 from beyond the arc while picking up five rebounds. Byrd shot 60% (3-5) from three and 50% from the floor (4-8) while dishing out two assists and one block.

For the Vikings, Abby Hora matched Schaub's number with 27 points and went 10-17 (58%) from the floor. Mckenzee Zilverberg was the second leading scorer with 17 points while going 3-3 from the three.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
Augustana boasts a balanced roster with four different players averaging at least 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Izzy Van Veldhuizen anchors the Augustana scoring attack, averaging 17.3 points per game (7th NSIC) to go along with 5.8 rebounds and 2.75 assists.

Aislinn Duffy is the second leading scorer for the Vikings, averaging 14.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Lauren Sees and Hannah Mitby round out the top of the Vikings' score sheet, averaging 13.8 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.

The Vikings have split with each of their opponents so far this season, winning the first and losing the second against both MSU Moorhead and Minnesota State. This weekend will be the first time Augie plays on the road this season.

The squad is shooting 41.2% from the floor (10th NSIC) and 35.1% from beyond the arc (4th NSIC) while holding their opponents to 36.1% from the floor (2nd NSIC).
