BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The NSIC All-Sports Standings have been calculated following the winter sports season, with Concordia-St. Paul sitting seventh overall in the 16-team league, while CSP's women remain a top-5 power collectively in the conference.
The winter season was highlighted by the women's track & field team producing a fifth place finish at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Mankato, Minnesota and the women's basketball team finishing in a four team tie for sixth place in the overall standings. The men were boosted by the track & field program's eighth place finish at the conference championships.
Augustana University leads in the overall, men's and women's standings with 11 of the 18 NSIC championship in the books. The Vikings were second in both men's and women's indoor track & field and tied for second in wrestling, were fourth in swimming & diving; and tied for sixth in men's & women's basketball during the winter sports season.
The NSIC All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.
The All-Sports Champions will be announced following the spring season, with the awards being presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in Moorhead, Minnesota in July.
