ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul Overwatch team (1-1) fell to Bushnell University (1-1) 3-0 on Monday evening.

The Golden Bears lineup for the second match of the season was Matthew WalkerJack KruegerQuiben YangRichard MahleAngelina Srey, and Chufu Thao

In the first map, a game of control on the map Ilios, the Beacons set the tone early as they were able to capture the point in rounds 1 and 2 without allowing the Golden Bears to capture a single percentage point.

In map two, a game of escort on the map Junkertown, CSP went on offense first. The Bears were able to find some holes in the Beacons defense in the early part of the round as they moved the payload about halfway to the first checkpoint. From that point on, the Beacons defense stepped up and stopped the Golden Bears in their tracks, eventually running out the timer to take round 1. In round two with the Bears now on defense, the Beacons quickly pushed the payload past the point at which they held the Golden Bears in the first round, winning round 2 and taking the second map.

In the third map of the evening, a game of hybrid on the map King's Row, the Beacons continued their dominance as they prevented the Bears from capturing any percentage points on the objective and ran out the timer in round 1. In round 2, the Beacons put together an aggressive push on the Bears defense and knocked CSP off of the point, winning the round and taking map 3 to complete the sweep.

The Golden Bears will return to Overwatch action on Thursday as they will take on Boise State at 7 p.m.
