Four Golden Bears make Academic Excellence Team; eight named All-Academic Team

6.14.19

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) has announced the 2019 GLIAC Spring All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams. A total of 814 student-athletes achieved all-academic recognition including 390 on the all-academic team and 424 on the academic excellence list. The 814 cumulative total matches last year's spring mark for the league.

Concordia women's lacrosse, an affiliate member of the GLIAC, had four members on the academic excellence list for the second year in a row while the program increased its all-academic team members from five last year to eight in 2019. Concordia's 12 total selections are among the 97 total women's lacrosse student-athletes recognized, up from 85 last year.

Criteria states that student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the spring semester.
