ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse picked up its second straight GLIAC victory with an 18-3 road win at Maryville on Friday evening at Maryville Field. The Golden Bears improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in league play while the Saints drop to 1-6 overall and 0-4 GLIAC.

The win puts Concordia in a tie for third with McKendree, as the two teams will square off on the Illinois side of the St. Louis area in Lebanon on Sunday at noon at Leemon Field.

In the win, junior Alina Boyce surpassed 100 career points, scoring four goals and adding an assist. She also had a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball in the win. Boyce has 103 career points (77g, 26a) in 37 games. She's the second Golden Bear to reach 100 points as junior Maddie Hentges added seven more to her program record 140 total. Her five goals puts her two shy of the first Golden Bear to 100 career goals, adding two assists in the win.

While Boyce became the second to 100 points and Hentges is closing in on 100 goals, junior Kailey Heinl is just two points shy of 100, scoring a goal while adding two ground balls and two draw controls against the Saints.

The defensive effort was dominated by the play of sophomore Lexi Stanley, who set a career-high with nine ground balls which is the second most in a game in program history and most by a non-goalie. She also had a career-high five caused turnovers and put up three more draw controls.

Concordia rolled up a 27-8 advantage in shots while still matching the Saints' four saves split between goalies sophomore Claire Hagen and junior Katie Lottsfeldt. Hagen picked up the win in goal while Lottsfeldt had just one goal allowed in the second half.

Concordia was efficient with 23 clears in 28 chances, committing nine fewer turnovers (21) than Maryville (30) leading to a 25-17 advantage in ground balls.

Golden Bear freshman Mary Keating started the scoring with a goal five and a half minutes into play before the Saints tied it 24 seconds later.

From there, Concordia put up six goals in a row sparked by three Hentges goals while Boyce added a pair to hit 100 points during the run with Heinl also netting a goal.

After a second Maryville goal with 11:15 to play in the half, the Golden Bears sprinted out to a 9-0 run that spanned 34 minutes to claim a 16-2 lead late in the game.

Freshman Sara McNicoll also had a big offensive day, scoring two and assisting on three other goals.

The Saints had their three goals by three different players: Haley Downs, Bri Laster and Brianna Bravo.
