ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul head coach Mark "Lunch" McKenzie has announced this weekend's three-game series with Minnesota Crookston has been moved to Sunday and Monday at Minnetonka High School. Sunday's doubleheader is set for noon while first pitch for Monday's single game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

SCHEDULE INFORMATION
Due to unplayable field conditions at Barnes Field, the series has been pushed back a day and moved to Veterans Field at Minnetonka High School. Concordia-St. Paul (11-5, 3-2 NSIC) will meet Minnesota Crookston (10-7, 3-0 NSIC) for a pair of contests on Sunday starting at noon before concluding the series Monday night at 5 p.m. The two teams met at Veterans Field last season in a four-game conference-opening series last year.

LAST TIME OUT
On Thursday in Bellevue, Neb., CSP used two runs in the sixth and two in seventh to claim a 4-2 game two win after dropping game one 6-0 to claim a split with Minot State.

The Golden Bears were held scoreless for the first 12 innings of the day, but came through when it mattered with four late runs in the second game of the day to pick up a win.

In the win, Ryan Christopher, the team's starting pitcher, continued to drive in runs at an impressive clip at the plate as he collected two of the team's three RBIs to move into a tie for fifth in the NSIC with 18 RBIs on the year. Christopher added to his strong performance at the plate with perhaps an even better performance on the mound. The sophomore did not allow an earned run and limited the high-powered Beavers to just three hits in his 6.0 innings in a no-decision. Christopher walked four and struck out six.

Blake Stelzer (2-0) added a stellar effort out of the bullpen as he retired nine of the 10 hitters he faced, allowing just a solo home run to pick up the win. The CSP reliever struck out two and walked none over 3.0 innings.

UMC SERIES HISTORY
CSP will look to continue their dominance of UMC in the all-time series as they have gone 46-6 in 52 previous meetings. The Golden Bears have been especially dominant in recent years with 43 wins in a row against the Golden Eagles dating back to the 2003 season. Concordia has rattled off a 20-2 mark on their home field against Minnesota Crookston while winning 10 of 12 meetings at a neutral site.

LAST MEETING WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES
In last year's four-game series against UMC played at Veterans Field, the Golden Bears claimed four shutout victories to pick up the sweep.

In the second day of the series exactly one year to the day after Gus Varland threw a no-hitter at Veterans Field, Josh Gaworski repeated the act with the second in the DII-era for Concordia. Gaworski overpowered the Golden Eagles in game one as he struck out 14 of the 24 batters he faced.

It wasn't just Gaworski that shut down UMC as Louie Varland and Riley Sweeney combined for the team's sixth consecutive shutout in game two. Varland scattered five hits over 7.0 innings to extend his own personal scoreless run to 12.0 innings to start the year while Sweeney grabbed his fourth save with two dominant innings in relief.
