ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse team (1-1) will head to Pueblo, Colorado for its spring trip to face three schools from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on the campus of Colorado State University, Pueblo.
The turbulent spring has spanned the coasts of the continental United States, with next week's forecast in Pueblo being no exception. Tuesday's game against Adams State shows a forecast high of 32 degrees, with Thursday's forecast reaching a high of 63 against the hosts. Saturday's game is more moderate with a high of 51 against Fort Lewis which also includes the highest percentage of precipitation in the three games at 20 percent.
Concordia is off to a 1-1 start to the 2019 season, splitting a trip to Missouri to start the season with a win in the opener at Rockhurst before falling at #4 Lindenwood.

Alina Boyce leads the team with four goals while freshman
Mary Keating has a team-best five points including a team leading four assists. Junior
Kailey Heinl and sophomore
Erica Peterson each have three goals and an assist.

Margot Coomes has delivered a team-high seven draw controls in the middle, followed by sophomore
Lexi Stanley's five while Stanley leads the team with three caused turnovers to spark the defense.

Maddie Hentges has a goal and an assist as well as a team-high four ground balls.
In the net, junior
Katie Lottsfeldt has started the first two games, posting a .400 save percentage while securing the win and playing all 60 minutes in net in the opener. Sophomore
Claire Hagen made her debut midway through the first half at #4 Lindenwood, playing the final 38:26 in the contest while securing six saves and a .429 save percentage against the Lions.
ABOUT ADAMS STATE
Tuesday, March 5, 1 p.m. (CT)
Concordia's first opponent on the trip, Adams State, has fielded a women's lacrosse program since 2011. Concordia, in its third year as a program, has already topped the Grizzlies in all-time victories with 16 wins to 12. Adams State fell in its 2019 opener 24-1 at UC-Colorado Springs before having its second game at Johnson & Wales cancelled.
Last year, the Grizzlies went 3-10 overall and 1-8 in RMAC play and were picked 10th in the 10-team league with 10 total points.
In the opener, Savannah Penland scored the team's lone goal, also firing five shots (four SOG). Last year, Penland was third on the team in goals (16) and points (18)
and leads all returners. She's the only player from the 2019 team who found the net at least once a year ago.
The Grizzlies also started a new goalie in the opener with Louisa Sanchez recording 15 saves at a .385 save precentage against UCCS.
ABOUT CSU-PUEBLO

The Thunderwolves, picked eighth in the RMAC preseason poll with 31 points, are off to an 0-2 start with a 15-8 loss at #22 Colorado Mesa and a 15-5 defeat at #8 Regis in non-conference games.
Last year, CSUP went 4-11 overall and finished seventh in the RMAC with a 3-6 league record. Concordia has faced the Thunderwolves once before, a 2017 loss (18-14) in Pueblo in CSP's inaugural year. That season, CSUP finished 5-10 overall and 3-6 with a seventh place run in the RMAC while Concordia went 8-8 overall as a Division II independent.
In that prior meeting two years ago, Concordia was led by a five goal performance by
Maddie Hentges while
Kailey Heinl added three goals and assist nearing the end of their freshman campaigns. Also a freshman and the team's only goalie that year,
Katie Lottsfeldt had 11 saves in net.
Through two games, CSUP is led by Elyse Ingram's four goals and five total points while three others, Olivia Tener, Tayllor Deim and Allison Wurscher, have three points each with Tener and Deim scoring two goals and Wurscher dishing two assists. CSUP was led by Leah Neumann's six goal game while Allison Wurscher had five points including four assists. April McDonough made eight saves in net.
Pueblo goalie Ane Marie Horton leads the team with seven ground balls while picking 18 saves and a .375 save percentage and playing all 120 minutes in net.
ABOUT FORT LEWIS
Saturday, March 9, 1 p.m. (CT)
The Skyhawks will be opening their 2019 season against the Golden Bears, having been picked fifth in the 10-team RMAC Preseason Poll.
They are coming off a 7-7 overall and 6-3 RMAC campaign that included a fourth place finish in the league standings and a first round conference tournament win.
Their leading returning offensive threat is sophomore Anna Dennison who was fourth on the team with 20 points and fifth on the team with 13 goals last year. She was also second on the team and leads all returners with 37 draw controls. Sophomore Abby Escandon is the top returning goal scorer with 14 last year as a freshman and 18 total points. Those two will look to replace three players who topped 35 points and had at least 27 goals each, scoring 93 of Fort Lewis' 165 goals last year.
They do return junior goalie Daris Wienk who had a .356 save percentage and 77 total saves last year while playing 13 and starting 12 out of 14 total games. She played 689:05 of a possible 843:32 minutes in goal.
