ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Golden Bears women's basketball team (2-3, 0-0 NSIC) is set to host the University of Jamestown (6-2, 2-1 GPAC) over Thanksgiving weekend. The two teams will face off on Saturday, November 30
th at 4 p.m. at the Gangelhoff Center.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
Concordia is coming off a weekend split after defeating Michigan Tech on Friday night in a second half comeback. Sophomore 
Sydney Schultz put up her first double-double to lift the Bears to a 65-59 victory. On Sunday, CSP started strong but couldn't make the shots drop in the second half against Northern Michigan and they fell to the Wildcats 65-60.
 
Against the Huskies (MTU), 
Meghan DuBois led the Golden Bears scoring 13 points and grabbed four rebounds while contributing two assists and two steals. Schultz had a solid performance scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, five of which were on the offensive end. The sophomore shot four for four from the field and one for one from the three-point line for a 100% field goal percentage.
 
Forward 
Sidney Wentland and 
Cassidy Byrd also ended in double figures for the Bears. Wentland ended with 11 points and eight rebounds and also put up four blocks against the Huskies. Byrd went three for four from the field and the three-point line for a .750 field goal percentage, she scored 11 points for the Bears. Freshman 
Jadyn Hanson helped out offensively as well scoring nine points with three assists and six rebounds.
 
On Sunday, CSP had the lead for majority of the game until their shots stopped dropping and Northern Michigan couldn't miss. The Wildcats shot 47.8% from the floor and took full advantage of the Golden Bears turnovers, scoring 14 points off of Concordia's mistakes.
 
Despite falling short in the second half, Byrd finished strong with a career high of 16 points and 10 rebounds for a solid double-double. Wentland led in scoring against Northern Michigan with a season best of 18 points.
 
JAMESTOWN HISTORY
 
The Golden Bears have been consistent in their contests with the Jimmies since their first meeting in 2013 and hold an all-time series record of 5-0 against UJ. The Bears average 78.8 points in the five-game winning streak against Jamestown. Last year, CSP defeated UJ 76-59 at the Radisson Hotel Classic hosted at the Gangelhoff Center.
 
ABOUT THE JIMMIES
 
The University of Jamestown is 6-2 on the year and 2-1 in conference play. Apart of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), the Jimmies are coming off of a 71-69 loss against Northwestern College. Prior to their first conference upset, UJ was on a five-game winning streak with three of their wins happening on the road.
 
In the GPAC pre-season women's basketball coaches' poll, Jamestown earn 50 total votes and was projected to finish eighth. The votes come after the Jimmies finished 14-16 last season and 8-14 in the conference.
 
As a team the Jimmies are shooting 37.1% from the field which is 4.4% less than their opponents. From the three-point line, their shooting percentage is 26.5% which is 3.5% above their opponents. Jamestown averages 41.8 rebounds a game and 14.6 steals.
 
Senior forward Oliva Anderson is the leading scorer for the team, averaging 9.8 points per game and shooting 58.9% on the floor. Freshman forward Hannah DeMars is a standout on the boards with 5.4 rebounds per game and 8.6 points per game. Junior forward Emma Stoer leads the Jimmies in assists with 22 on the season.
 
KEY STATS
 
The Golden Bears are shooting 39% from the field this season and 37.5% from beyond the arc. They are averaging 34.6 rebounds a game and gaining ball possession due to steals 8.6 times per game.
 
Following the weekend, 
Meghan DuBois is still the leading scorer for the Bears with 67 points this season and averaging 13.4 points each game. The sophomore also leads the team in assists with 15 and in steals with 12.
 
After a positive execution in Michigan, 
Sidney Wentland is now second on the team in scoring averaging 12.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 27. She has also been strong on defense down low with seven blocks this season, four of which occurred in Friday's game against Michigan Tech.
 
Junior guard 
Danielle Schaub has yet to miss a free throw and is eight for eight from the line. Schaub is also shooting 40.4% in the paint and 46.4% from the three-point line. She averages 11.8 points and 4.4 points per game.
