ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul (0-4) nearly recorded their first ever Rocket League series win in program history as they won games three and four before falling in five games to Carl Sandburg (Ill.) (2-3) on Monday night.
The Golden Bears lost a close first game 2-1 in extra time before the Chargers would win game two in another tough fight by a score 3-2. CSP followed with their first ever win in the third as they defeated the Chargers 2-1. The Golden Bears were not done there as they won game four 3-1 to force a game five. Carl Sandburg came out swinging to start game five as they went on to defeat the Golden Bears 6-2.
CSP did manage 10 goals in the series, led by six from
Phung Khang while
David Voelker added six goals and three assists. Voelker also led the team with 12 saves in the five-game series.
Concordia will look to get into the win column on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
