ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia Golden Bears Rocket League (1-5) team was unable to make it two wins in a row as they fell to Culver-Stockton (3-4) three games to none on Monday night in the NACE Fall Rocket League Championship group stage.

Heading into the week having won five of their last six games last week, the Golden Bears were unable to carry the momentum over to Monday as they dropped all three games to the Wildcats. CSC took game one 7-0 before grabbing a 7-1 win in game two and an 8-0 win in game three to complete the sweep.

It was a tough start for the Golden Bears as Culver-Stockton scored three goals in the opening minute of the first game to build a decisive advantage. CSP managed to slow the pace from there as they held CSC to four goals the rest of the way, but they were unable to get much going offensively as they dropped the opener 7-0.

Concordia turned the momentum in their favor early in the second game as David Voelker opened the scoring with a goal at the four-minute mark of the contest. That lead held until Culver-Stockton managed to tie the score at 3:26. The two defenses shined for the next few minutes as the score held at 1-1 until the final minute and a half. The Wildcats managed to tally the eventual game-winning goal with 1:26 to play before tacking on five insurance goals to bring it to a final score of 7-1.

The Wildcats picked up where they left off in the third game as they jumped ahead early en route to claiming a 3-0 sweep with an 8-0 win in the third.

Voelker's opening goal in game two proved to be the lone goal for the Golden Bears on the night as he also collected three saves in the contest. Phung Khang paced the squad with four saves while Nordell Brooks added two.

CSP is back in action with another five-game series at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
