ST. PAUL, Minn. – Due to the poor weather forecast for the weekend, the Concordia-St. Paul softball team (19-15, 4-8 NSIC) will move their doubleheader against Minnesota Crookston (5-23, 1-5 NSIC) to Friday, April 13
th at the West St. Paul Dome and will cancel their doubleheader against Bemidji State. Friday's games are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. This will be the 11
th and 12
th games that the Bears have played inside this spring.
MINNESOTA CROOKSTON SERIES HISTORY
In their past 37 matchups with the Golden Eagles, the Bears are a dominant 36-1, with their only loss happening in April of 2002. CSP has won the last 33 games straight and are 19-1 when playing at a neutral site, as they do this Friday.
LAST MEETING WITH UMC
In last years' doubleheader the Bears swept the Golden Eagles to continue their 30+ win streak over Minnesota Crookston. In game one,
Linzy Heim pitched a seven-inning shutout helping the Bears to a 3-0 victory. CSP used a three-run fourth inning to earn the win when Jarosz hit a two-run home run and Schanks scored on a UMC error.
In the second game, Concordia outhit the Eagles 13-5 on their way to a 6-5 win. Jarosz went 3-3 in the game, hitting two more home runs to drive in half of the team's run. Kivisto also racked up three hits, while driving in a run, and Schattner and Heim each had two hits apiece. Heim earned her second win of the day, pitching the final 4.0 innings, giving up one run (unearned) on two hits.
CONFERENCE LEADERS
Throughout the season, the Golden Bears have had several players rank near the top of the league in different statistical categories, as well as being ranked nationally.
Carlie Hart, who had a 21-game hit streak in the beginning of the season, ranks fifth in the NSIC in batting average (.442) and ninth in the country (second in the NSIC) in hits with 57. The junior centerfielder also ranks seventh in the NSIC in runs (33) and fourth in triples (3). On the bases, Hart has stolen 19 bases, which is the second highest in the conference.
Nicole Thompson ranks 18
th in the NSIC in batting average (.393) and eighth in hits on the year with 46. Thompson is also ranked as the sixth toughest to strike out in the nation, as she has had 117 at-bats, striking out only once.
Junior
Justine Schattner has also been a tough out at the plate, walking 18 times so far this year, which is the fourth most of any player in the NSIC.

Aryka Knoche ranks fifth in the conference in batters struck out with 68 and sophomore
Kali Kaestner ranks 15
th in ERA at 3.06 and 10
th in opposing batting average, holding opponents to a .251 average.
HIT STREAKS
Centerfielder Hart owns the longest hit streak so far this season, with a hit in 21 straight games. The junior has also had 19 games with multiple hits, which is the most of any Golden Bear this season.
Knoche was close behind Hart with a 17-game hit streak, and Thompson has a current 12-game hit streak heading into today's games.
CLOSING IN ON 200
Senior
Nicole Thompson has been closing in on her 200
th career hit and is now only three hits shy of the impressive mark. Thompson, who owns the highest career average of any Golden Bear at .391, has two opportunities this afternoon to cross the 200 mark, as the Bears take on Upper Iowa. With three more hits, the Oakdale native will become the seventh Concordia player to compile 200+ hits. Anna Bjorlin (2007-10) holds the record for career hits with 248.
