ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team (9-17, 6-14 NSIC) finished off their home regular season schedule with a sweep, defeating Winona State on Friday and getting a 87-59 win over Upper Iowa (2-24, 0-20 NSIC) on Saturday.
The Bears had an offensive explosion, scoring the second-most points they have scored in a game all season, only behind an overtime win against Southwest Minnesota State, when CSP scored 97 points. In Saturday's game, the team hit 34 field goals and a season-high 12 threes.
CSP's 87 points were also efficient, as they shot 46.6% (36-73) from the floor and 42.9% (12-28) from three. The Bears held their opponents to worse percentages in both categories, while also capitalizing on 21 points by forcing 21 turnovers throughout the contest.
Four different Golden Bears ended in double figures during the contest, with juniors
Anna Schmitt and
Lindsay Dorr leading the way, as they combined for 50 points. Schmitt finished with a game-high 26 points, shooting an efficient 61.1% (11-18) from the floor and 66.7% (4-6) from beyond the arc. With Saturday's offensive efforts, Schmitt moves up another two spots in the CSP all-time scoring list and is now tied with Dana Christopher (1987-91) in fifth with 1,453 career points.
Dorr finished off an impressive weekend by tying her career-high in points with 24, while shooting 55.0% (11-20) from the field and securing seven rebounds. Dorr was also a defensive force, tallying four steals and three blocks.

Haydn Becker and freshman
Ellie Gess were the final Golden Bears in double figures, each finishing with ten points. Becker also recorded a game-high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double.
Kayla Miller was the game leader in assists, registering a career-high five.
The Bears started strong, leading 10-3 in the first three minutes of the game. Upper Iowa then went on a 10-2 run of their own to lead by one with 3:31 left in the quarter. Both teams traded baskets until CSP scored the last five of the quarter, capped off by a
Lexi Lee three, to give them a four point advantage heading into the second quarter.
CSP came out hot in the second frame, starting with a 14-1 run to stretch their lead to 17 with two minutes left in the half. The Bears' defense also played their part, holding the Peacocks to only one field goal in the quarter that came during the last minute of the quarter, and only six total points in the ten minutes of play. The 22-6 scoring advantage for the Bears helped them lead by 20 at half, 41-21.
The beginning of the third quarter was back-and-fourth until Upper Iowa scored ten unanswered points to get the game within nine. Schmitt then scored the next seven straight points to finish the quarter and restore the Bears' double digit lead. Schmitt was the leader in the quarter, scoring 14, helping the Bears head into the final frame with a 61-45 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Peacocks rallied and got the game within ten with a little under eight minutes left to play. The Bears answered with force, though, going on a 22-2 run to give the team a 30-point lead. This run sealed it, as the Bears went on to win 87-59.
Freshman Courtney Schnoor was the top scorer for the Peacocks, coming off the bench to score 15. Junior Amanda Cartney was the other Upper Iowa player in double digits, registering ten points.
The Golden Bears finish off their regular season on the road, facing Sioux Falls on February 16
th and Southwest Minnesota State on February 17
