Golden Bears tied for 8th in the D2SIDA Preseason Central Regional Poll

CSP will be in action at St. Kate's for an exhibition matchup November 6th at 7 p.m.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Concordia St. Paul women's basketball team has been picked as one of the top ten teams in the Central Region in the D2SIDA Preseason Poll, tying for eighth with Augustana in the voting.

The top team in the poll was Central Missouri, who won the NCAA Division II national title last year and received all six first place votes in the poll.  The Jennies were followed by Southwestern Oklahoma, Fort Hays State, and Sioux Falls, who was the top NSIC team picked in the poll. Arkansas Tech was picked fifth, with MSU Moorhead (NSIC) and Emporia State as the only other teams picked ahead of the Golden Bears.

Two representatives from each conference in the Central Regional (including the NSIC, the MIAA, and GAC) voted on the poll. The top-10 teams in the region were comprised of four teams from the NSIC, four teams from the MIAA, and two teams from the GAC.

The Golden Bears were picked to finish third in the NSIC earlier this fall in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. CSP trailed just Sioux Falls and MSU Moorhead in that poll as well.

Concordia will have their first action of the 2018-19 season in an exhibition matchup when they make the short trip to St. Kate's to take on the Wildcats on November 6th at 7 p.m.
